I think geoffff's trip reports would make a nice book for Baja adventure seekers.

Wonderful.
Thanks.
East side of Concepcion is a favorite of mine!
Used to live in San Nicolas and went there many times.
Your photos brought back great memories.

I go to Guadalupe Canyon Hotsprings every January but I have not had the huevos to drive through to Mex 5 down Laguna Salada. Maybe next year.

I sail to Playa Santo Domingo from Mulege in my Windrider Trimaran. Love that beach. The gringos call it Jingle beach because of the shells there that they use for making wind chimes.

Great report. Thanks.

Blue caterpillar

You wrote: "Wriggling around among the desolate gray walls and rock was this bright blue caterpillar! I've never seen anything like it, and I still haven't been able to identify it. Anyone know what this is?"

FYI- it appears to be a mystery for others also.

They added a bunch more warning barrels to the scene of that Highway 5 bridge-out crash I saw on my way down. The 2nd photo is from 9 days later on my return trip. (dashcam photos)

You put an amazing number of miles of dirt under your wheels this year. Nice report Geoff, and an inspiration to those who have been there, those who wanted to or were just curious!
