Somebody help me out here...
Fall Convoy...?
That is what I'm thinking...
Summer Convoy better...
Nomad party at the Ranch...?
Please...

I think that B.A. has what it needs, more development would make it less attractive to me! I have to admit that a bank in town would come in handy
sometimes.

24 hour Electricity arrived followed by telephone and Internet
We welcomed Shari to Baja Nomad with her one bed B&B
Asunción was 'discovered' by more Nomads
Juan built the Rock Room and then more
Then came the paved road
Then came the Pemex station
This is how towns grow in Baja. But, not always in the same order! L.A. Bay got the paved road first.

I should have said it will make it less attractive to me, because nothing remains frozen in time.....except my tech skills!

an ATM would be a dream for sure...the Leyes Cooperativa store does take gringo credit cards! And I wouldnt turn my nose up at gelato...jajajaja
I personally am proud of how slow and sweet Asuncion is growing...the best things were the road being paved and a real gas station...well that is
after we got electricity, water, phones and internet of course...
now there are a few more eateries, places to stay, hyperbaric chamber, astro turf baseball stadium, better groceries and ice cream options, more
locals are able to have their own houses now with a government financing program and beautiful flowers and trees planted on the main street
boulevard....and the latest improvement is the sea wall!!!! It happened slowly with no influx of gringos...just a nice little village growing with
some government support.

It sounds so peaceful... I hear waves lapping the beach... I'm getting a little sleepy...

I happened to be there this week. We´re working with the delegado and the ejido to finally put some order in the trash dump. There was a fire a few
weeks ago that finally caught attention from the authorities.
Always liked the place, went to eat a delicious "caracol a la mexicana" at Yoli´s place, then a short walk on the beachfront.
I say that when they put a traffic light in Guerrero Negro, i will move to Asunción... and when they catch up with that, i´ll go to Tortugas.

The problem with most waste management in baja is that they dump it on the ground (sometimes burn it) then wind and scavengers spread the refuse.
Doubt most communities can afford a lined landfill like 1st world. But the simple alternative they can afford is to daily bury the refuse. Simple
process of dumping trash in orderly fashion, then covering the waste by end of day to prevent animals and wind distributing trash.
Woke!

The little town is so cool.
A "fisherman friendly" cantina perferedly directly adjacent to a "fishcamp"
It's a 2.5 fricken day drive people!
Please make a place for me and my kind.
I can over run you with gringos but I need to sell this a bit harder....
Please help me out some!
How about a masseuse in at the camp...
And we don't care what language she speaks...

I can't stay out of this any longer....
I have met people in Asuncion who have fished with FF and they all reported he was ignoring his guides expectations and physically putting others in
the panga at risk with slap-dash fishing efforts and was generally a disrespectful loud-mouthed yahoo.
One of the great things about Bahia Asuncion is that it is NOT overrun by gringos
His comments above list ALL the things Bahia Asuncion does NOT need. His archaic idea of what a "fishcamp" is simply stupid....Asuncion has fishing
cooperatives that represent professional fish management....and could teach this clown a few things about fishing.
Asuncion does NOT need " a place for me and my kind"....it is a wonderful place because his kind don't stay for more than a day or two.
While there seems to be a small group (ie. 2 people) who joke about having a bar and bordello as a means of self-sufficiency in Asuncion, FF has
jumped on this failing bandwagon idea the way he impulsively clings on to so many fleeting posts on Nomads.
FF is like a fly at a fishcamp: irritating, a nuisance, and needs to be swatted into a splatter on the wall.
Don't believe everything you think....
