Bahia Concepcion is a big place I'm wondering if anyone else has visited the
site? Here are a few more photos:

The abandoned government trailer park/ RV park built for travelers on the newly completed highway. It failed soon due to both being too far from
services (at the south end of the long bay) and somewhat swampy at lunar high tides (bugs?). Criminal activity was reported there in later years.
Looking at the older guidebooks, no mention until I spotted a note in the 1988 AAA guide that simply calls it 'an abandoned trailer park'.

I have never been there, but your photos and hint (sweet location) have me calling this a former sugar cane mill site, south of San Bruno, east of the
Palo Verde airport. Note: the new Baja Atlas shows it as a 'Sugar Mill Ruin'!

I was told recently by a source who seems to know what he's talking about that the rancho is the ruins of a resort built by former Baja Governor
Xicoténcatl Leyva Mortera before he got into trouble for some corruption scandal - after which the ranch was seized by the federal govt.

Well I have never been there, so I was way off! I did stumble upon a place that had very similar construction, and in very similar condition, but it
was right on the coast on the Cortez side somewhere between Santa Rosalia and Loreto.
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!
"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!
