Welcome,
And what you will find out around here is that lots of people will agree with you because everyone thinks it is only the OTHER people who throw mud, or if they throw any mud it is because it was deserved, or asked for, or they are innocent because they do it in insidious ways.
Tis the way of things I fear.

Welcome to BajaNomad, watizname. Stick around for a while and get a feeling of what drives this place. It's roughly akin to family bickering and not nearly as cold and heartless as a first view might suggest.
Are you comfortable knowing what motivated you to participate? An errant voyeurism of sorts, I would suspect. That qualifies you to be an outstanding addition to the community and I hope you will join in.

Anything "Baja" going on in your life these days?

Either it is okay for us all to have an opinion on the adventure or leave those opinions to a different thread. Democracy is about all sides being heard... right?

I removed the past two days of my opinions... and hope others do as well... so this can be a thread on the adventure and location of Mike.

I will remove this after a day or so.

I second the suggestion of somehow making this thread or a replacement one for updates of Mike's journey only.

The bickering, name calling, PETA rallying, could be in another thread.

Ken

(Like him or not David's posting of Mike's locations are making this journey an epic one for all of us to enjoy realtime.)

Thanks again David!

Twnty years ago in my full size GMC w/camper it took me two days to navigate Lighthouse-San Jose area. First was the river-bog and then down the beach for a wild-open throttle dirt track that the fisherman pointed out was the road-trail. Don't know what would have happened if I didn't make itup the dune/trail!! Foolishly I was alone altho my faithful Lab always had the greatest confidence in me! Got stuck in the mud a day later!! Lab was in heaven ! Fisherman helped dig me out next day!! A moost beautiful pllace. The ocean was flat as the Sea of Cortez, ha, ha! I would have been better of with a burro.:rolleyes::rolleyes::smug: Tio

I almost guarantee that those hand ringing about the donkey have not ever been upset by what happens to an unborn child. :O:O:O:O:O

I think this post is great - Lots of good pros and cons and great graphics!

Do you think anything posted here will effect Mike's adventure?

Are you interested in following his progress in this post? He's already stated that he's saving it all for the book - so ... enjoy the Nomad madness and buy the book when it comes out - or not!

I'm in the Pro Burro camp - not to be cool - but it's my feeling that there is some cruelness in taking that animal on this adventure - over San Carlos Mesa and beyond without enough water- resources remain sketchy for most of the journey - figure 5 gallons / day for man and beasts. Opposing camp says - mikes cool , his adventure is cool - mikes suffering so the Burro can suffer as well - Mike has choices - Burro is a victim - for Burro, Baja adventure sucks - IMO

I myself think the burro must be having a great time - he has company and is walking and eating and drinking. As stated many times already, if he is unhappy, he will plop down and take it plenty easy !!! Animals have instinct and I never thought that burros were .......... well .............. sooooo stubbornly smart :)
