I love those mesas. Bet I admire them 100 times a day. Brilliant orange at sunrise, stark red lava at noon, glowing peach at sunset, deep lavendar during rain. Summer thunderstorms hover over them and lightening smacks them for our entertainment. Water 'em a little and the tops turn green like a Chia Pet.

We gave him pedestrian courtesy and he slithered on his merry way.

Shark fins ???

I watched a panga unload and cut the fins off about 10 sharks at Punta Arena in February. They didn't even save the meat. It wasn't fun to watch !

Diver--------

---it has apparently been going on for years. We saw three Panga loads of sharks butchered the same way at Punta Chivato about 12 years ago-----right in front of our camp. At least they did haul off the fin-less sharks out to sea about 500 yards and dumped the whole mess in the sea. Kept only the fins which were loaded into a fridgerated truck beside our campsite. Took the next tide to clean up the beach------this went on litterally 10 feet from where we were sitting under our canvas palapa. We never said a word, but it sure was not fun to watch, and contemplate.
