OK, I am home from work.. and am surprised Doug didn't post an explanation...

There was a 'glitch' in the software the cause SOME of you folks who read or post in OFF TOPIC FORUM to see Today's 'Off Topic' Posts... like Judy, Diver, Hose A, Paula...
Lou and I didn't see them as they weren't on our screens... and no I don't do mushrooms:rolleyes:

The REST of us who DON'T go into Off Topic, saw NO Off Topic Posts listed in 'Today's Posts.

I don't know why Baja isn't enough to keep you 'off topicers' entertained!

David

I don?t write ?stuff? on this board to curry favor with other people here and I don?t sling dirt and I don?t stoop to foul language. I write and discuss things that ?I? have determined will make me grow as a person. And I certainly do not see it as one of my goals to change anybody?s mind except my own. I do, very much, enjoying sharing my thoughts with others and I believe that many folks on this board pay a bit more than a passing attention to what I say because they know that I think and that I care about people.

You continually maintain that you no longer visit the off topic sight and that is fine but that surely does not have any bearing on what I do as a grown adult.

I do have a growing disrespect for a few posters who post, either on ?off-topic? and other areas of this forum because, to me, they reduce their own ability to communicate (is that not why we bother to be here) valid thoughts because they get downright nasty, pompous, or 'holier than thou.'

To suggest that people who visit any area of information are somehow ?dirty? is silly and when the suggestion is then added that one might become a better person by going to other information sources is close to being a bigot. The fact that people enjoy posting unusual locations and then asking others to identify their location is, I?m sure, great fun for them?I don?t belittle their interests just because I don?t share those interests.

I very much enjoy most of what you post and often think, ?David will be along soon and give us valid information on that subject.?Remember, it was I who named you ?
The Baja Connection.? Like you I, too have a lot of knowledge on Baja but it is more concentrated on its people and culture and the humorous side of things.

To sum up, I would like to say that I believe that I have contributed, in a positive way, to this forum and to the old Amigo?s Board since you were so kind as to introduce me to them so long ago.

One last thought?I do quite often wonder and worry if I am irritating those people who might be buying my books or who might be willing to sell same for me. BUT, I always come to the conclusion that in my actions I must be true to what I believe and one of my strongest beliefs is that people must be treated with dignity and respect.

Good night my friend!

Good morning amigo...

I did not mean to implicate you in my suggestions... My experience in Off Topic years ago was that it was a Liberal vs. Conservative war zone and it was alienating Nomads, IMO.

Baja is about 'friends helping friends' I read on a tee shirt I have ;D

Off Topic was not a friendly place when I looked. Perhaps it has changed?

I don't want to irritate anyone and I do delete posts if it does. Promoting fun in Baja is all I wish for... and because this is a public forum for Baja discussion frindships are created in the sharing of information or telling of stories!

Viva Baja, Bernie!

Larry, I deleted a post of mine the other day. It wasn't a lack of conviction or courage, but I felt like I had encouraged another of those long, unpleasant political discussions that turn to shouting matches. Another Nomad called it to my attention, and I realized that I really did not want to participate in the conversation any further, and so stopped it before it really began.

Generally I agree with you, but maybe an occasional exception is warranted.

Note:
This post will self- destruct in 59 minutes:biggrin::biggrin:
