I spoke with docthaddeus by telephone this evening. Was given some further information - and I'll see what, if anything, I can verify.

All I want to know is the size of those 23 rooms in that house. Were they 4' x 4' each? The house doesn't look like it is more than 1600 square feet.

It looks like it is mostly garage on the ground floor. I just don't think it is a mansion, by any stretch of the imagination, we have bigger houses in our neighbourhood, and they are by know means mansions. I don't see how you would fit 23 rooms in there.

unlike many opinionators trying to undermine my goals and intentions for justice, and have nothing else to do in their lives but chit chat about a subject/situation that they know nothing about, i , on the other hand, have to get some rest for another day. by the way, if you really want to ask me something, why don't you just call me. i posted my phone number. would you do that? there isn't a question that i can't answer. some people can't handle the truth, can you? some people can dish it out, but can't take it, can you? I think if you were charged with a crime, even if you didn't commit it, that you would be in their prison right now. How come your not?
What crime were you charged with and what were the grounds to deport you? On what grounds did they confiscate your property?
I'm not doubting you like some of my fellow nomads. I am very curious to know some facts in this case.
I personally have never had 1 problem in baja. That includes flying light aircraft all around and several driving trips. I also have invested in property. How did things go so wrong for you? How did it happen?

docthaddeus I am trying to help you but you will not respond to my emails or answer any of the questions that I asked. and yet you have plenty of time to try and pick a fight with the people here. it sounds to me like you were illegally deported from Mexico. if so you can come back here and fight for your property if you want. but I need more info to give to my Lawyer so he can advise.

Just a note about deportation and crime charges...I have seen it happen here that instead of putting gringos in jail for their crimes they would rather they just leave the country so immigration usually helps them do this by way of deportation. By the way anyone can call immigration and report you and make up some c-ckamamey story about you and without ever investigating it, they can and will give you 24 hours to leave mexico. If the caller/complainer is a wealthy mexican you don't stand a chance at getting justice or pleading your case. It happened to me before and I wanted an investigation and hire a lawyer to clear my name and immigration told me just to pay the fine and forget it...which I did by the way. There is a 3 strikes you're out policy too so if you get complaints about you they can deport you. Immigration is used instead of putting some in jail....cheaper, easier and the problem goes away faster.
So you must mind your P's and Q's here, be nice, get legal and don't rock the boat.

shari this person need legal advice. and in fact they have put out pleas for legal help on other sites. I have spent many hours on this I have talked to immigration and to my lawyer and countless other people but with only the information that the posted and them refusing to help me to help them I can do no more. if this Doc person dose not come up with anything soon I will give up. I like to help people but there are some that you just cant help.

Wrap this guys attitude up with what Shari says and you will probably come up with a clear picture as to why what happened happened. Talk about rocking the boat. I cannot imagine walking into a Mexican police station and demanding anything. He probably then went to all sorts of different officials with various accusations. He had the opposite of Pizza Insurance, more like a big red bullseye.

Quote:
Were you paying attention?
Regards-- Larry

The sheer volume of questions tendered in this thread has to be overwhelming to Ted. Especially to a guy who is living in a motel room using a $130 computer that he picked up at a yard sale. Not to mention the fact that he's burdened with having to use the snail-like dial up connection. Talk about loathsome! Some of you people here need to think and think again before you "talk." Especially those of you who are fortunate enough to have a DSL or cable connection. Think back to the day when you had to deal with the pitiful aspect of dial up. So get off of his back, Larry!!

Either people like you aren't paying attention or you have no empathy whatsoever. Note to all of you in this thread, a large cattle-call of posters, who are vying for Ted's attention: Pick up the phone and dial Ted's number for crying out loud! Don't be afraid, he doesn't bite!! All you have to do is enter a few digits into a dialpad. It's not rocket science!!

Follow this simple, time tested formula: Just be polite, say hello, and ask him if he has a moment to spare. Try it, that'll work wonders!!

You should thank Ted for doing something that is about as common as seeing a snowball in hell: A poster who gave out his personal phone number (his cell phone number of all things) on a discussion forum in a thread that is bound to spark controversy, skepticism, disgust, hate and ridicule. You'll have to wait another 20 years before you ever see that happening again! And by the way, if you don't think his narrative hasn't sparked any hate, just ask Ted about some of the emails he's received! :O

And get this...his username is not a Cyberspace psuedonym, it's his real world name! The merits and detriments of using your real world name as an Internet username are debatable, as would be any dialogue about the state of your sanity. But that is something I'll let everyone else debate amongst themselves.

So sack it up, be a man, or a woman, and give him a call...if you can afford to call San Diego, California. You can afford to make a phone call to San Diego, now can't ya? It would be alot better--and far faster--asking Ted your 20,000 questions live on the phone as opposed to expecting him to labor over a keyboard all day long just to appease everyone here. And when he answers your questions c'mon back here in a hurry and report what he said, because it's obvious some of your fellow community members in this thread are on the edge of their seats. You can be a hero just like Paul Revere was!

It's just not reasonable to expect Ted to dedicate all of his waking hours mollifying every single poster on a discussion forum in a thread of this magnitude. I don't care how advanced technology is, this form of communciation is one of the worst kinds out there for facilitating discussions! Keep in mind we're using a silent form of communciation, one of the worst types in existence when you compare it to a conversation that uses a phone system, or sitting around talking over lunch at Denny's. The gaps in sorting out details and facts and getting the true perspective of a story are as wide as a valley in the Grand Canyon when communicating via keyboard. All of you should keep that in mind before you slam him, AND before you put yourself in his corner for that matter. As President Ronald Reagan once said, "trust and then verify."

And be polite to him when you talk to him on the phone because you just might be surprised at how far a little common courtesy and politeness will take you in this world! Ted's phone number is in his thread starter, at the very bottom of his post. Are you paying attention, Larry?

Merry Christmas, Felice Navidad and Happy Holidays!!

P.S. Be sure to ask Ted about the Swedish guy who saw Ted's telephone number on the Internet, and called him all the way from Switzerland. The same guy who went through the same thing Larry did, and is now in the process of trying to recover the many thousands of dollars worth of possessions that the police in Mexico stole from him. Don't you just love the big, wide, wonderful world of the Internet?
