Just north of Punta Cabras?

That's what I was thinking too.

If you go to Mia's Bahia de los Angeles forums you will see more photos from the top of Mike's Mountain from Wiles... great stuff! Graham Mackintosh stayed up there when Mike was still alive and described it in his first book. I recall that Mike took a little bit up each time he climbed the mountain. A photo of the rain water collection device is interesting...

Mike's Mountain

Dave, I followed your clues and found the pictures by Wiles you mentioned - also there, is a beautiful panorama of the view from the top (not this one:lol:)
Here's a short cut, if I may...

How long did Mike live up there? When did he leave?

Mine at Pt. Conception - 2 views

A very familiar place to me.

Sharksbaja posted this picture of his shore camp at Pt. Conception.

This is my offshore picture of the same place. A familiar landmark is the osprey nest atop the huge rock. This is near the old mine.

Although I like remote camping, this is a great place for kids, and only a couple hours south of the border.

Our camp is always such a mess.

Back to the drawing board on posting a photo! Thought I had it.

If it doesn't upload BajaHawk, go back and check to see if it is under 50 kb.

Used to spend weeks at a time here,
quite often our camp was the only one:

That was 1992, on the east cape of the tip, a few miles west of Vinorama. I would imagine it's not the same now.
