Now I know they were serious when they had Young Donkeys on the English menu at the La Pinta. It was not a mistaken translation after all.

Eating Horse
Watch out for any Frenchies that may come by.
Although I haven't eaten any horses, my dogs have in the past. They never said how it was, but they did appear to enjoy it. That may not be a
recommendation, though, since I've tasted the Dog Biscuits that my current dogs love so much and they're pretty awful.
Given the condition of that Cow that floated past me, I doubt that it would have been good eating. Besides, it would have been pretty difficult to
dress out in the small c-ckpit of the sailboat, especially in the middle of a storm.

A Cow has as much right to life as a Turtle. |
Its more about eating a species which is in decline and especially stealing from a site that is attempting to keep that species intact. Cows are
plentiful.

Back in the 80's, my wife and I came upon a turtle stuck in a ditch next to our hotel in Cabo. It was flailing away, bleeding, and trying to extract
himself from his situation. Together we were able to move him out of the ditch and point him towards the sea. Several hours later we discovered that
some of the locals had grabbed him before he made it into the water and were "playing" with him on the beach. In our very broken spanish, we were
able to persuade them to help us take him to the edge of the water where he quickly scooted under the waves and was on his way. It was a very
satisfiying day for both of us, not to mention the turtle.

Nonsense.
Chickens, cattle, buffalo, goat, rabbit, etc. are not endangered species and are bred for food. If the turtles were left alone and the egg-laying
projects all over Mexico were supported for a few years, everyone would have that food source as well. What part of "endangered species" do you not
understand?

Hypocrites and other Wild Things
I have no problem with ANYONE who would frame their argument AGAINST eating Turtle as an "endangered species" question.
I would expect those persons (other than Vegans) to then have no philosophical problem IF said turtles were brought back to a sustainable level that
would allow their harvesting as a food product. The FACT remains that those who otherwise eat other meat and protest are still Hypocrites.

What exactly is your point there Skeeter?
Your assumption that compassion for an animal reflects a lack of understanding of the "basics of life" is patently absurd.
Also, how the heck does "survival of the fittest" relate to stealing turtles from a sanctuary?
