Hot, but along the coast it will be less hot than inland. Playing in the Sea of Cortez is fun, too!

Jose, Come on down, plenty of room. It's hot but it's all about the warm water and cool drinks right now. I just heard from Steekers, he and Joanne will be coming and usually stay the night or two...

We were down two weeks ago for two nights, low humidity with sea temp at high 80's.

We'll even go to Shell Island and harass DavidK

Sorry for my late reply, I've been really busy lately.

I'm always up for an offroading trip, I would go to SM once a month if it was closer.

I think anytime during October or November would be good weatherwise but... the pools will be REALLY COLD!

If you guys organize a trip, I'm there.:bounce:

Jose, 'Baja Angel' was asking me tonight about going back to Mision Santa Maria sometime this winter in order to caravan with you so you could finally see it... Unless you get there before then, it is something to think about?

Mision Santa Maria is one of the top Baja destinations for beauty, ruggedness, interest and more! http://vivabaja.com/msm and aren't I lucky that Elizabeth wants to go back as much as I!

Only issue is time off from work... as the three days for Chistmas or New Years (they are on Friday's) isn't enough to enjoy the trip.

Hi Jose... sorry, but I was in Baja the past 4 days camping...

Okay, for a Santa Maria trip, I would say at least 4 days...

1 day to get down to El Rosario or Santa Ynez. 1 day to drive in and begin to enjoy the atmosphere at the mission/ set up camp.

The third day to have a full day of exploring the mission valley: El Camino Real, bighorn sheep, etc.

The 4 th day to come home or at least to get back out of there and to El Rosario or another Baja destination before going home.

The only thing I see on the horizon is Christmas (Friday) with an extra day off or New Years (we may be going to a friend's home then).

After that is President's Day weekend in Feb. if we don't do a Matomi run or if Baja Warrior has an idea?

Otherwise, taking any Friday and Monday off to give 4 days...

If you can go and get another to caravan with you, then go for it! I will be cheering you on all the way!

ok it's looking more on my side to be around next year, that will give me time to get a more compact car to take all the way to the mission, i wouldn't like to leave my truck on the widow maker..

I think you could do it... Just slow, low range crawling 4WD... and some ground clearance of 9" or more should limit the dings!

The top of the Widowmaker to the mission is just over a mile. The oasis is a mile past the mission and down an even steeper grade!

Anyway, going down is easy... Coming back up, that's another story!!!:o:o:o
