Get well Russ. With 6 fx ribs you may feel a tendancy to not want to take deep breaths or move around much. You may want to just stay in bed. I don't know your age but pneumonia & older people are an especially bad combination. Move around with what your comfortable with, but move around. No, I'm not really a doctor. Just an old Navy corpsman whose's seen a little. Take care.

Looks like a old Ford Explorer, those things didn't have a real good track record when it came to roll overs. You are one lucky person.

My biggest problem when I had broken four ribs was getting out of bed. You never realize how much core strength you have until broken ribs keeps you from having any. My solution was to rent a hospital bed for a few weeks. It will crank me up to the sitting position (almost) and from there I could spin on my behind and get out of bed.

Russ, if you need a source here in South Orange County I can point you in the right direction. Try not to laugh as it only hurts more....! :D

A small correction to Russ's Post. .....he was a little bit "out of it" and it must have affected his memory. He did stay at Caracols Hotel and they were great to him., but I picked him up there and that night we stayed at Jardines. It was there that in the morning he could not move at all. I was very scared that he might have had internal bleeding or something even worse than a broken rib. It was Guillermo and Carmen from Jardines that were able to get us a Doc who gave him a shot that made it possible to get him in my truck. Im very sorry that I don't remember the Doctors name, but he was great. My thanks goes out the staff at jardines Hotel and i want them to get the credit they deserve for going out of their way to help us. Plus Mason was a great trooper and unbeliveable dog to travel with. He didnt seem to suffer any injuries from the accident. Russ mentioned that after the accident several very kind people stopped and helped him. It just shows that there are alot of kind people out there.

Not surprising that Guillermo and Carmen helped out --- great people and they do hire a very good staff. It is a good thing to let people know.

I am just so surprised that Mason did not suffer any injuries. He must be one tough dog.

Speedy recovery, Russ!

As JP stated, the Explorers don't have good track record on roll-overs. Ford got sued over their roll-over prone vehicle and lost.

Steve/Meany, thanks for getting things right for me. Getting out of bed is definitely the hardest part of this "Baja Adventure" but I can do it and it certainly reminds me how fortunate I am.
Thanks again for all tour best wishes and thoughts
