Thank you very much for the update on Mountain Shadow RV Park. I hope I hear from my friends soon and can now only hope for the best.
Pescedero and Todos Santos are such a beautiful communities and would love to be there to help on those repairs.

All is well at Casa Rancho. We had extensive palapa damage but nothing structural to the rooms or kitchens.
I already dismantled the 2 palapas and they are on the street. One neighboor just took a major load of free firewood. And now I have about 20 cargas
of pre drilled leaves if anyone is interested.
Gas is now available, cel phones on, bancomer open for a few hours this morning.
People are seriously rallying to clean up and the place already looks decent.
Woody, paul was a mere sea breeze compared to this monster.
The noise and pressure were unbelievable. It felt like being in on airplane that was going down.
More later. |
I am definitely interested in the pre-drilled leaves. I lost my palapa in Pescadero. I'm in the states right now but I have a friend staying at my
place who could pick them up. I should be down there in about two weeks to start the rebuilding.

What can I say? About 60% of all power poles are down and just about every large tree and every piece of aluminum roof.
The road that the Mtn. Shadows rv park on is ruined so I can't comment on anything there.
If the building is made of Cement, it is probably still there. I have seen many RVs here in TS flipped on their side, stripped on their siding or
crushed. I have seen others completely flipped over. I have seen a few still okay.
Looting is a huge problem. Many many families lost everything they own. Food is in short supply but the government has an 18 wheeler here giving out
free food and water. The President was here yesterday.
I am ok. Damage to the properties I care for and my personal house was wiped out. But all in all, I'm okay. |
Good to hear from ya Katiejay99, WOw sounds like a hell of a time The states news only talks about looting in the big stores I didn't think a small
place like yours would have that much??
Have you heard anything from monoloco, maybe all his neighbors are eating salmon good energy for a big cleanup job

I haven't ventured in Monolocos direction yet. I have a whole mess of stuff to deal with here. I have friends who I haven't heard from either in that
area
.
someone said that they wished they were here. I will tell you that No you dont.

Looting is HORRIBLE here. Locals vs locals, etc. Someone told me that they hear gun fire around their area at night. That is the area above the
Bomberos. I am really glad that we have gasoline now and one ATM open and of course SHUT UP FRNAKS!! YAY!! Football is on!Imagine that!?!

Hi Spearo,
A family in the neighborhood has beaten you to it.
They lost their roof so it's going to great use.

I'm glad to hear you're okay. How did Las Tunas and El Posito fare? I can well imagine sturdy cement structures remaining intact but palapas
disappearing. Mary and I plan to be up in that general area in early March.

Knowing monoloco, one can hope he's putting his carpentry skills to good use.

Does anyone know anything. How is:
San Pedrito beach;
Cabo Extreme/Surf Hotel area;
Rancho Pescadero area;
Las Tunas;
Otra Lado (out to Tunas);
Carlitos (Pescadero)
Sirena RV area;
Mountain Shadow RV area;
Tequila Road (is it passable?).
US Marines: providing enemies of America an opportunity to die for their country since 1775.
What I say before any important decision.
F*ck it.

Thank you Shari! I may just do that.
On a side note someone has cut and pasted my two entries and failed
To put that i said the looting is mostly locals on locals and they used
My screen name so lots of people here are all upset
Saying i have been posting all over the internet
That there are big problems here.
I posted nowhere else. If you are going to quote me please

dont ya hate it when that happens!!! Sounds like a road trip to clear your soul may be in order.
Funny...I thought your report was very interesting and informative..not glossed over so people dont think there is a problem...I never thought there
would be looting in TS...do you think they are people not from there...but now live there...mexicanos or some gringos too? Is it people helping
themselves to stuff that got blown around or stores and casa break ins too?
I guess it's all relative too...someone may see disaster and destruction and be traumatized from the storm depending on where you were for it and what
happened to your home. Others who didnt suffer much damage may not see the worst of it.
When a hurricane comes to call I try to get the people living in RV's here to come and take refuge and not ride it out in their RV unless it is well
tied down and fortified and out of a flood zone.

Robert & Linda at La Aguja (Playas Pacificas) are fine. Robert called yesterday from La Paz.
Todos Santos is doing well. Electric & water back in centro. Many CFE crews working. Power
Should be hot in La Cachora, Las Brisas, Las Tunas and La Pastora tonight or tomorrow.
Supplies arriving daily from La Paz for the stores.
Have not seen or heard of any looting. Nor have my many Mexican and expat friends.
This community has worked hard from 1st day after Odile. Viva Mexico, Viva Todos!
Jim Coulson from Cerritos is fine also.

During disasters, unfortunately, more BS than usual is thrown around on the internet.

Do not understand DianaT's comment. Shari, Rob stated that all was ok. I believe he and Linda are
back home. Been trying to call, but no go. Main thing is all is well. Might be able to get thru on cell
before their internet is back. If I do..., will post.
So glad BA is fine. Saludos to you and Juan. Tell Bajaboy to get back to work. His students miss
Him.

It was a general statement and certainly had nothing to do with your post! I am sorry if you thought it might be directed toward you.
In good times there is so much BS spread around here and during times of trouble, the level increases all the way from exaggerated reports of
problems, to exaggerated reports of all is okay, and includes reports of help and or no help.

Diana, thanks for clarification. Did not think it was directed at me. There was no looting in
Todos Santos. The people here would not allow it. The storm abated at 4:30 Monday
morning. By 5:00 people were checking on neighbors and the town. By 7:00 everyone was
In full cleanup mode. After 18 years here and a few hurricanes I have never seen the
people come together like they did here in Todos. I did not have a cold drink for 5 days.
It was in the 90's and humid. Not complaining, just saying we all sttod together and took
Care of our community.
