The region of the photo is a war zone of dangerous criminals who live in the river basin and do drugs and is controlled by cartels. Her behavior is outrageous and criminal on many levels. I wrote this myself at the moment, as evidenced by the misspellings and errors in grammar, and have not read the source you mention. I suppose many of us have similar thoughts, based on observation, experience and history, just as I see alignment with your distinctly different thoughts, chorused but others here.

For example, here in BCS there is no sympathy or tolerance for the Central American invasion. The public sentiment is you are welcome to visit as a tourist, then you need to leave or migrate legally. The events are clearly orchestrated political nonsense, and a waste of of energy and time and threat to our security.

Lee, why don't you put your money where your mouth is and welcome the Central American caravan into your house and pay for them to live with you in Todos Santos?

Ad hominem personal attacks demonstrate that you have no facts to make your point, aside from the attacks being entirely false.

The woman in the photo is a symbolic mythical staged image. She would have had to arrive many thousands of miles, head into the Tijuana river basin, run though a police barricade, across the basin, up the hill and apparently attempt to climb the fence with her babies, and run through the border crossing, all which is extremely dangerous, suicidal, criminal and futile.

It's not possible for her to have arrived all this way without significant financial and organizational support, while being fed lies that she is welcome, and ultimately stage this photo with clean clothes, wearing an "Elsa the ice queen" shirt, yet her kids have no shoes or belongings, dragging her kids in harms way without shoes or clothes.

In any civilized country in the world this is recognized as totally irresponsible behavior endangering her kids, requiring community intervention to rescue the children from her reckless behavior.

It's interesting that instead of the obvious conclusion that this requires intervention to stop her, instead you would encourage her to further her criminal dangerous behavior on behalf of political destabilization. Clearly it's a paid social programming to incite polarization and social change, and tolerance of a second or third class of illegal migrants to serve as low cost labor to push cost down and further create acceptance of lawlessness and criminal corruption in the border area.

Ultimately the result of illegal immigration is that the individuals end up as victims of compromised situations without legal papers to identify as their true identity. It's very sad that some of you promote this type of life leaving a long trail of victims, while you claim to be moral and empathetic, you promote and support the cartels control over human trafficking victims.

A lot of caravan, insensitive haters, have lots of incorrect information and made up BS on this thread about the migrants and their young children who were victims of tear gas.

According to the Associated news, fake news, to the likes of David K. and Gnukid, because it's not "Fox News, the children were hundreds of feet away from the fence, and were not attempting to enter the US, however, the wind carried the tear gas towards the children hundreds of feet away.....therefore, it unlikely was not planned by the migrants, and for sure was not well thought through by the border patrol.

Shame on Trump, his administration, and the jack booted thugs, in ICE, and the border patrol.

To the rest of the world, and groups like Amnesty International, the United States, is acting like N-zi Germany.

Children screamed and coughed amid the gas, The Associated Press reported. The wind carried the aerosol chemicals toward people hundreds of feet away who were not attempting to enter the U.S., the wire service noted. One woman collapsed unconscious amid the chaos, and two babies sobbed with tears running down their faces from the gas, Reuters reported.

______
Amnesty International complained that “families are frightened and soldiers are shooting tear gas at toddlers. We must choose to be better than this.”

Isn't applying for asylum an internationally recognized LEGAL way to migrate?

I thought the way to apply for asylum is to legally get to the country of choice OR go to the embassy of the country you seek, in your own country.

This mob stormed through the southern Mexican border and some tried yesterday to storm through the American border.

Here is an article from "Buzzfeed" that actually interviewed the Caravan migrant, with the two kids.

Read the facts before another "Baja Nomad" member, comes around and makes things up out of thin air or talks conspiracy theories.

And briefly from the article, the woman and her children were not trying to rush the fence, and one of her children lost her shoes while running.

The Mother In This Iconic Photo Of Sunday’s Border Teargassing Was Thinking Only Of Getting Her Children To Safety

“I thought my kids were going to die with me because of the gas we inhaled.”

IJUANA, Mexico — The woman running with her two daughters in front of tear gas in the widely published photo from Sunday’s confrontation at the border between some members of the caravan and US border authorities feels like crying when she looks at the image.

In an interview with BuzzFeed News, Maria Meza, 39, of Honduras said she was standing by the border fence with her five children when Border Patrol agents fired at least three tear gas canisters at them.

“I felt sad, I was scared. I wanted to cry. That’s when I grabbed my daughters and ran,” Meza told BuzzFeed News. “I thought my kids were going to die with me because of the gas we inhaled.”

The photo, taken by Kim Kyung-Hoon of Reuters, shows the single mother running from the gas in the Tijuana River bed, clutching her twin daughters’ arms.

So much for requesting asylum.

when you educate yourself on the actual law - on requesting Asylum, then we can discuss. But since you are apparently ignorant of federal law on this issue - how do you think you have a place at this table?

ignorance is just alternative intelligence - we have to follow the example of the great leader

I am in Tj . Business as usual, CBP says they can not predict the next closeing. At noon, I had never seen the Rio Tijuana so clean. 4pm, the homeless guys are building a new camp, business as usual.

Did the migrants really tell the Mexicans that free tacos were only fit for animals, the same tacos the Mexicans eat?

This racist former Border Patrol, thug, claims that pepper spray is harmless, and you could put pepper spray on nachos!

Of course he says it on "Fox New," where the right-wing audience believes anything "Fox News" says.

Border Patrol official: You could put pepper spray on nachos

A former top Border Patrol official said Monday that the pepper spray used to stop migrants from forcing their way across the US border to seek asylum was so harmless, they could eat it on their nachos.

“It’s natural. You could actually put it on your nachos and eat it. It’s a good way of deterring people without long-term harm,” said ex-Border Patrol deputy chief Ron Colburn, who served under President George W. Bush.

Colburn, speaking on “Fox & Friends,” decried what he called a “core of violence” among the hundreds of Central American asylum seekers, a number of whom stormed the border at Tijuana, prompting Border Patrol agents to force them back.

The migrants, he said, had a “sense of entitlement,” and the use of tear gas, which also affected women and children as it wafted on the breeze, was “absolutely” the right call.

But experts said that pepper spray wasn’t as harmless as Colburn suggested.

“There is no real scientific basis for the claim that OC [pepper] sprays are relatively safe,” according to a study from Duke University and the University of North Carolina reported in the Daily Beast.

“In fact, a number of reports have associated serious adverse sequelae, including death, with legitimate use, as well as misuse and abuse, of these sprays,” the authors wrote.

Human rights and immigration advocates called the use of pepper spray on women and children inhumane.

The TV news today clearly showed Tear Gas was only used where the few dozen (young males) had forced through the border fence (the older fence next to the newer one) to repel illegal crossers... and they quickly returned to Mexico... No women or children were seen.

I suspect the photo above, which is clearly inside Mexico at the river (no U.S. tear gas canisters were launched into Mexico), was a smoke bomb or maybe tear gas, from Mexican law enforcement or Mexican protesters angry at the illegal Central Americans in their country?

How did this mother walk her children from Honduras without any shoes?

Dk, where should they go to live or die? You got a solution for a refugee single mother with Kids? What does hannity recommend they do? Just roll over and die? Will that make you happy?

Goat---------they managed to get this far. I suspect they will figure out how to get back!

A very unfortunate situation but maybe these people should not be rushing our border. It was quite a sight seeing them on the news channels rush through Mexico's southern border. Did Mexico say they were willing to take in these asylum seekers? :?:
