Robby Gordon (#77) is in the lead at Race Mile 383, per Weatherman Radio.
Edit: that is in the Trophy Truck Class... overall 4-wheeled vehicle. #77, 23, 19 are all running close.

Ughh... Robby is not moving at RM 387.
Dan McMillin (#23) is now in the lead at Race Mile 400
Tim Herbst (#19) is in second place.

#23 Dan McMillin is close behind.
#10 Alan Ampudia is third.
Robby Gordon is moving... in 6th place, on the map, in Valle Chico.

That quote was made to me concerning Mario Andretti
It was made by one of the real insiders of West Coast racing.
Not meant as an insult, just a reality...

Robby didn't break anything except himself. We were at mile 450 when he stopped for fuel. Took off after fueling and then turned around and pulled
back up to his crew. Had to be helped out of his truck and then collapsed on the ground. Eventually his co-driver climbed out also. Looked like the
end of his race. The helo was planning to land.
After about 15 minutes he climbed back in the truck. Took him another 5 minutes or more to buckle in. No hurry at all. Then he started the truck
and took off to finish.

regardless of that drama, it appears as if gordon may be onto something with his new truck , using a transaxle set up instead of a transfer case.

Sounds like he neglected his diet. I have observed that these racers seem to be obsessed with rockstar and monster energy drinks — if you try to
live off a diet of energy drinks alone, you will get sick. I assume the racers eat/drink only sugary caffeine energy drinks, as I don’t see any
other food/drink stickers on their cars.
Perhaps the racers should get rid of the energy drinks and eat some wheaties, bacon/eggs, PBJ sandwiches, etc., eh?
I suspect that the racer that eats a balanced diet will not collapse like Robby who was trying to subsist on energy drinks
Woke!

Robby obviously didn't follow the jack thread on BN!
Per Robby on Instagram. He did have a vibration but the down time was a flat tire and the new jack system failed him. It fell 3 times off the jack and
he ran out of charges to raise the jack. He said he would go back to what’s always worked. He did say the new rear end worked perfect and all the
running gear and engine are the same unprepped from V2R. Both 500 mile races were to test and make sure the new driveline system could go 1000 miles.

Sounds like you have only observed the sponsor decals.
Most if not all of the top racers and many amateurs have personal trainers and dieticians. Personal chefs and private gyms are not unheard of. Racing
is a big money sport whether Score, Nascar, Indy, Motocross or F1. Some F1 teams even have purpose built in car type simulators for specific physical
conditioning and training exercises.
Racing is one of the most physically demanding sports. 500 miles in a hot race car wearing a 2 layer fire suit and outside temps over 90 degrees that
day. Probably over 120 to 140 degrees in car. A F1 driver will lose 5-6 lbs or more during a 1.5 hr race. Same or more reported for Indycar and
Nascar.
These racers are not living on a diet of Big Macs and energy drinks.

In conditions like that, dehydration could be a deadly hazard!
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!
"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

Maybe Goat could provide Kale/wheatgrass shakes to the race teams?

They need "still suits"
Did you ever read Frank Herbert's novel "Dune"? On that desert planet, they wore "still suits" that converted excreted body fluids to drinking water
that they would re-ingest.
They could probably make it taste like warm gator aid!
