My AT&T/iPhone 11 works pretty good in baja. Only problem I have is that text messages sent to me from usa while I am in Mexico sometimes don’t come thru (I find the bunch of msgs only when back in usa). This is easily solved by telling peeps to use whatsapp, which seems to work great.

It appears that text messages only fail to reach me when they are sent in period when I am out of range or have phone turned off.

Here's an example from a friend in Mulege last week on ATT. You can see he has a good signal on the speedtest but slow speeds

Do you know whether he's talking to AT&T or TelCel towers? If he has a choice, setting his phone to use AT&T only, might change his experience. I just checked out the AT&T docs, which include:

The results in your graphic are typical 2G speeds, which likely mean he's connected over TelCel.

JZ, what data speeds have you gotten with AT&T in Mulegé?

Check out the coverage map I posted. If you aren't in the green 4G area you will be on a Telcel tower with slow roaming speed.

Cricket is owned by ATT

I was wondering about that. I was on the AT&T website and there was a link to Cricket for more options.
