Give it a rest, DK. Your ideology is way far to the right and has blinded you to any objectivity. You are now in the political minority. Even those
who may share your extreme views take it to Off Topic.
I have occasionally defended your right to express your opinions (but not your positions), but I'm telling you...you are over the top and ruining this
string and some others too.
Stay with what you do best; share your vast knowledge and love of Baja.

Very well said, I totally agree with you. Would like to add more but stirring broth makes no sense.

Art, I will be happy too... just ask the others to stop focussing on me and instead on the subject!
This is all I posted that was too much for comi to not jump in:
"Yah, what gives Roger? Us from the mid to late 1950's just barely got our kids to adulthood when the end comes smashing down! Savings, Income,
Freedom... it is all vanishing... and by the hands of those who got voted in who is giving us this kind of 'change' and 'hope' (pocket change and
little hope)!
When the producers (givers) are outnumbered by the takers, that will be the end of freedom and our way of life."
Now I ask you... is there anything there that is not fair conversation or personal to any one Nomad? Sad that one side is told to shut up, while the
others are free to say anything without a reply?
The END of FREE SPEECH.

I typed it, so I didn't miss it... Did you not say we or us when you decided to reply to me instead of the subject? Did you not say basically put up
or shut up and then go on to say we will have 8 years of this disaster? Are you now saying that I cannot have an opinion?
Peace to you comitan... and try and be nice to all of us as I would be to you and others.

dk, your writing is a bit incoherent, but passable enough that we now know you have no grasp on reality. If you would watch the Obama channel, you
would know that the change guy did not cause the depression and evaporation of investment gains, it was that shrub guy and his backslapping cronies
who robbed the american public.

Toneart,
With all due respect and please do not take this the wrong way. A 52 % to a 48% result in the last election does not put David in the minority.
A vast group of the winning votes were in protest to the Iraq war and not to conservative thought and lifestyle. This will be played out in 2010
but that is another matter. You yourself have injected your own political views in a great deal of your posts and your own hatred of the right is
easy to read through. Some of the most intolerant peple I have ever met were liberals and it is played out here on this board. This is not to say
that those on the right do not have their cast of charactors who are troublesome in their own right.
I would suggest that those that always seem to scream the loudest here do not want to hear both sides and that in itsself is a frightening thing to
behold .
We need to hear each other and try to understand each other.

A word of advise, you would not be having all these people on your back if you would just follow the forum rules and only post Political Opinions in
the OFF TOPIC that's what it there for.

Try to understand on off topic. If you haven't noticed Obama did not become pres. in Baja
If its not where it is, its where it isn\'t.

The entire subject of Retirement Plans on Hold... I guess belongs in off topic then?
I was responding to Pops and RogerJ1... why you jumped in and made it more political is beyond me...
This is a Baja forum... and I love that subject... but why should I not get to reply to any other...
POLITICS? Here is what I would call 'politics':
You, the goat, JD, Legs all seem to enjoy the gang bang whenever I indicate the fault of the economy just might be in the hand of those in control of
congress... and THAT'S when the economy reversed and began to slide (2007, Democrats took over). Now, just to be fair... the Republicans were NOT
being conservative and were spending like democrats even before then... That's why they didn't get re-elected... Bush was no economic conservative
either... I blame his liberal spending for the Democrats taking over, too.
Bush did prevent any more 9-11s, and for that we all should be greatful... He was re-elected...
That's all past history now... time to look ahead... is there a future for America? Will the rest of us join Comitan, LongLegs, etc. and leave the
United States?
If I do move to Baja, my time will be exploring and enjoying others who love Baja, too... I won't be speaking trash about the USA while living in
another country.
Viva Baja! Viva America!

Thank you for your respectful lead in.
When I speak of the minority, I am speaking of the % of ultra-right wingers; the Chaney defenders with whom the objective Republicans are trying to
create some distance. You are correct in that I don't like them.
When I interject my political views into a topic, it is a discussion within the context of the topic. Politics do shape events and all political
points of view are valid when trying to illucidate those views within an objective context. I don't rant an ideology. I don't name call, label or
shout rhetoric. And I don't "scream the loudest". That is the modus operandi of the far right. Besides that, as the title of a James Carville book
states, "We Are Right and They Are Wrong!"
I have not been one to pile onto DK. I have expressed a defense for him in past posts. Fairness is a policy with which I strive to adhere. I should
have known better than to get personal with DavidK in the post that you are reacting to. I reached a point where I had seen enough. It is not typical
of my posts. I was guilty of the bad form for which I hold disdain.
Bad form is what we (you and I) are talking about, I think; In an objective conversation, bad form obscures any valid point a person of any political
persuasion may be trying to express.
Welcome to the forum, longhairdbeatnick. I have to say though, having been one myself in San Francisco, as a poet, jazz musician, bartender at Spec's,
early womens' specialty store/head shop owner with then designer wife, I never met one Beatnick with even a moderate, conservative point of view.
Remember, Beatnicks followed Bohemians and were intellectuals, artists and world travelers, influenced by European culture. Although pot was around,
most people (they were called "Squares") were clueless. We were not the Hippy/drug culture that followed. My point is: I got the chops. I got the
credentials. (Using bad grammar as nomenclature)
So, we are all products of our personal and collective experiences. I do try to put myself in the other person's shoes and understand where he/she is
coming from. That does not require agreement. I especially agree with your last line, "We need to hear each other and try to understand each other."
