Probably dove for cover. That's what I'd have done.

Is "dove" a word in this context? Maybe "dived"? I don'no.

Good Morning Dennis did you have a nice birthday. I see those extremists at SDMM are jumping all over the shootout story.
I think the heat in Campo must be getting Field Marshall Jeff and company of the third Riecht.

A juvenile was driving one of the vans.

Apparently they have too many agents on the Mexican border now- so they are moving 384 agents north to the Canadian border. wtf ??

Gawd...who knows? All of the optimism and hope I had from last November is slowly dwindling away.

The ultimate Mexican chutzpah

This article in today's AFN is infuriating. I can't tell if the insulting part was written by some burrohat reporter or is the official Mexican position on the events. I'd like to hope that it was just some reporter pandering to his readers. Here is the first paragraph of the article in Spanish, followed by my translation:

Quote:

...and here is my translation:

Quote:

TIJUANA BC 24 SEPTEMBER 2009 (AFN) .- The Mexican government through its Consulate General in San Diego, will defend and represent those Mexicans who were involved in the events at the San Ysidro border crossing, where presumably several Mexican citizens were illegally detained, which led to a shootout that left three with bullet wounds and one more injured due to a vehicle crash...

http://afntijuana.info/blog/?p=18339

By the way, the final tally was: a total of 78 persons: 58 men, 15 women and 5 children, traveling in three vehicles. So far 70 have been interviewed, confirming that all are Mexicans.

I agree with you Dennis, I'm still hoping for the change, but with a lot less confidence. I would like a bumper sticker that says "Hey, Obama, Where's the change?"

Oh, Great, 380 more to drink coffee & 4 more to man the booths. Still a 2 hour wait up here. Just as bad as San Ysidro.

They'll be trading tamales for beaver tails, but they'll really live like kings up there compared to San Diegos cost of living (if any agents are being moved from therel). Phoenix would be a wash.
