1) What makes you think that he's doing his best to make this look like a scam? Why do you think that he strives to make this look like a scam? SCAM
is a very strong word, bro! Or were you being facetious?
2) How is it that you want to help him? What could you offer him?
3) If you're really concerned, and you really want to help him, why don't you call him on the phone to offer your help? Correct me if I'm wrong, but
are you blowing smoke?
4) Do you have an aversion to talking to someone on the phone?
5) Why don't you call him on the phone and talk to him yourself?
6) Do you have a crystal ball?
Ted put his phone number out there so people like you (and me, or anyone else for that matter) could call him and talk to him one on one! You don't
have to "offer him help" in order to talk to him on the phone. That's not a prerequisite! I don't know why he's not answering his emails, and it
wouldn't be fair to make an assumption as to why he's not answering his emails. That would be like convicting someone of a crime based on an
assumption and not fact. You don't know why he's not answering his emails unless you have a crystal ball.
There's something a little odd here. Everyone is asking for Ted's voice and yet no one is willing to call him even though they have his cell phone
number. For some strange reason there are people in this thread who equate a telephone conversation with the deep french kissing of a rabid, 3-legged
german shepard. Just like the 3-legged dogs that I always see roaming around Constitucion Avenue in TJ. What's with that?

Bruce, is always the very first person to offer fellow nomads help, he is also a wealth of information. At the very begining Bruce offered to help,
with questions that he would need so that he could get the ball rolling on this end.
Not everyone is able to make the call, for some people it is more than just a long distance call, it is an international call.

Who owns the house?
Who deported doct?
Is doct a legal resident of Mexico?
How did he bring junk cars through the border?
Who is going to fund doct when the shoe runs dry?
Who funded him before all of this nonsense transpired?
I get the feeling that there is something going on here that would compete with the Nigerian money scam for creativity. I don't like to judge the
victimized in such a hard way but we are being deprived of the key elements of information necessary to form a positive opinion.
Yerserday, doct posted about a billion words stateing his dilema. Today he cant post anything because he is power denied.
This stinks.
And you, after recently meeting doct, have taken an unusually defensive stance for him considering you dont even know him.
My BS shields are up everywhere on this one.

Well then I apologize if I was mistaken, Bajagypsy. Maybe someone could make the call on Bruce's behalf. I didn't know that making an international
call from Mexico to San Diego was all that big a deal. Maybe Bruce should look into getting a VOIP phone. 
I know that Ted is using a VOIP phone from his motel room in order to save money. Yes he has a cell phone, but if you expect to call him multiiple
times, he'll furnish you with his VOIP number so he can save money on his cell phone bill and not eat up the minutes on it.

The billion words of his narrative posted in his thread starter are saved on Wordpad, and Ted simply copy and pasted it here. That's what he told me.
You'll find his narrative out there on Craigslist. I saw it on Saturday, or maybe Sunday, I can't remember which.
And you're wrong, I never said I met the guy. I only talked to him on the phone. He's in Spring Valley, I'm out in Pacific Beach, and so we're
seperated by a few miles. If you dispute my rebuttal, copy and paste the part where I said that I came face to face with him.
I don't know the answers to all of you questions because I'm not Ted. Why are you asking me? You have his phone number. Call him up and ask him
yourself since you're feeling "deprived" of answers. The lack of initiative on your part sends my BS shield up, too.
I don't mean to be mean spirited, if I was in your shoes I might feel "deprived" of answers. I know from talking to Ted that he'll answer all of your
questions. I've already gone over this and it's getting redundant. You people that are curious need to pick up a phone.
I too had that same "deprived" feeling when I first saw his post on Craigslist, so I just picked up the phone and called him up. I wanted to tell him
that it was not very smart of him to bring in a whole parking lot full of cool cars. It was then that he set me straight and said that they all needed
work of one sort or another and were hardly in showroom condition.
Check my previous post for his phone number. What's the big deal? Don't be afraid. It's a telephone conversation, not a beheading at the hands of
al-Qaeada!

Actually someone from this board already called Ted last night (on 2/18/2006). The caller is affiliated with this sight. Ted said that there were a
few people on this board who urged the caller to call Ted up and ask pointed questions, "burning" questions.
The moderator might know who the caller is. And of course the caller is watching the evolution of this thread, no doubt.
And right about now I'm beginning to wonder myself, "Hey Ted for the love of God man, come post something, will ya?"

The whole sad story sounds like business as usual in the underworld of the booming border cities. The powerful criminals usually don't target the
tourists and low key expats that frequent this board, so I doubt tourists and expats would have much knowledge of the situation.
I think anybbody should know not to buy or lease the house of a former drug lord (or minor drug royalty) in Mexico -- sounds like it has bad karma all
over it

I have never "met" him. Though I have spoken to him on the phone.
This is just one example of why I told Ted that discussion forums can be a great way to waste alot of time in your life. By having to reply to
accusations such as this one.
Again, I contacted Ted for the first time on Saturday or Sunday, two or three days ago. He's staying at a motel in Spring Valley, I'm in Pacific

That motel has pretty good dial up if it can handle VOIP without problems. I've rarely found dial up connections that can handle it.
