I think we should take a vote on the best sign...I loved the off-beaten path sign and the lower your standards signs best...and I've always loved the DONT LEAVE ROCKS ON THE ROAD signs around here. this should be a book for sure.

When I can speak/spell Spanish as well as most of the locals can communicate in English then I can make smug remarks about their spelling and the signs....yet....aren't they wonderful, those amazing differences in semantics and spelling? I love the ones posted on this site. Keep them coming

Dern grew up in Santa Maria, where a large percentage of the community is made up of migrant farm workers. SMAT - Santa Maria Area Transit was better known as Spreading Mexicans Around Town. It's interesting to see a SMAT bus operating in Mulege.
