Have you read about the 2010 Tundra with a 300+ HP engine?

From Toyota News Release

Replacing the Tundra's 4.7-liter i-Force V-8 for model year 2010 is a new V-8 that rings in with a tad less displacement but more power, torque, and efficiency. Based upon the mighty 5.7-liter V-8, still the truck's top engine, the new unit displaces 4.6 liters, 310 hp, and 327 lb-ft torque. Toyota says the new engine will boast the best fuel economy of any full-size V-8 truck V-8 when it goes on sale next month.

The 4.6-liter shares cylinder bore diameter with the 5.7 but features a shorter stroke to reduce displacement and therefore consumption. While official EPA ratings have not yet been calculated, Toyota estimates mpg ratings of 15/20, far better than the outgoing i-Force's best-case of 14/17 in two-wheel drive models. The same six-speed automatic found with the 5.7 yields best possible performance and efficiency.

1994 Ford F150 ext bed 2wd w/ 130k miles.

Well in a couple weeks it will be the first time this vehicle will drive to Baja and will be left there for our use when in town.

We were going to leave our 98 Toyota 4runner but realized it is such a great car we are keeping it up here so we don't have to buy another car. We also have a 2006 4runner...love those 4runners.

The Ford we bought in 2003 and doesn't get used much up here in CA. Anyone know how much payload this thing can carry? i'm looking at 1200lbs so far including 2 sit atop yaks.

Husband is thinking about buying this tubular lumbar rack:

What is benefit of this thing?

I just love my Toyota FJ Cruiser! I named it B.O.B. for Baja or Bust....mine is Voodoo Blue with a Baja Nomad sticker on it...and now Ford and Toyota are tied again.

Whenever I hear that rainy, chill wind blow. I think it may be time to head for Mexico. Tengo que obedecer mi corazon!

2005 Ford Excursion Diesel 4x4. Best Baja truck yet. My previous was 2000 Ford Expedition 5.4 4x4 and before that was a 1993 Toyota Extracab with Fabtech pre-runner lift. The Excursion has a 44 gallon fuel tank and gets 16mpg at 75mph, fully loaded with a hitch hauler and loads of chit on my roof. I drive in comfort from OC to LA Bay on one tank with plenty of fuel in reserve while my wife sleeps in back on a twin mattress and the two dogs are on their pillows. Still room for a cooler and a couple baskets of clothes.

This is my last rig in action before I started hauling quads around and had to upgrade to the Tundra. Boy did I love that T100.

All my American steel friends gave me so much crap until I towed this one out (2 jet skis on a Trailer behind the Dodge 1500 4x4)

Did the vote counters find any of the ballots with hanging; dimpled; or pregnant chads! Looks like Ford is in the lead!

One thing is for sure, Bob's first choice (Nissan) is in last place...

Which really only means you should not let public opinion totally control what you want.

David is right, if you like what you drive, should be no problem. In my case I own toyos in the past, Last toyo truck, it was a 2003 4 door trd tacoma, but it was to small for my family(five people), so I trade it for my RAM, and now i can tell you that I love my RAM as I love my Tacoma.... It all depends on your needs and activities in Baja. Now Dodge it's tight in fourth place..

I agree. And, I didn't ever say the Nissan was my first choice, just that I was looking at them and I thought the Frontier was very nice.

I'm also looking at Toyota and Ford (F150 instead of a Ranger if I go Ford again).
