This got me curious, so I looked up insulation a bit, and I found that they make insulation especially for noise control. I also see that it is sold in 24" widths. http://www.owenscorning.com/worldwide/canada/products.asp?Pr...

problem is though is that all that oom pah pah party noise will be coming from INSIDE this shed! I was dreaming of the pithaya margaritas we will soon be sipping from your patio....cant wait to take the "After" picture. I love the view....of the cantina at Playa Chato.

I would like to know the process for making cement stairs. What the forms look like and "step by step" directions.

Paulina,

They cut stringers similar to wood stairs and then cover the bottom side with plywood. They install the risers only - no treads.
You set the stairs and fill with concrete from the bottom up.
Working with a fairly dry mix, you trowel each step as you fill ....
Peel off the wood bottom, stringers and risers when all is cured.

There is typically rienforcing steel placed lengthwise over the plywood bottom and 2 bars in each tread, behind the riser.

the building was built to block the wind so it sort of faces our place and the island...thus the ocean as well but it's nice on that patio with no wind and has a great view of your place diver....I can just see us out there with our pithaya margaritas!! watching the sunset...ahhhh

I only have one problem with your shed, and it's that it's your shed instead of my shed. What's the lower level going to be? Living quarters or work space?

The bottom is the shed, the top portion will be our living quarters till we get our house built then it will be our guest house.

Insulation is commonly sold in 16" and 24" widths.

For sound blockage, Roxul makes a sound/fire attenuation product (Safe N Sound) http://www.roxul.com/sw18169.asp that is very good. But it offers very little in thermal insulation.
