David I sincerely think you could write material for Sean Hannity.

You'll probably take that as a compliment tho.:lol::lol:

The libs had something to do with the Toyota fiasco somehow....some way....

We are all guilty for straying off topic into issues that are not Baja related. Some of the best threads are those that morph in different directions.

Yeah but politics is so political. And the poster in question often insults those who see differently with his looney, whacko adjectives and obvious ignorance of what's behind other points of view. I don't mind if threads morph into other topics but politics belongs in off-topic. It's so tiresome.

Perhaps. But Ken, this is not one of them.

I'm still trying to figure our the conspiracy between the left and Toyota that DK was referring to.....??? I know he didn't come up with that all on his own.

DK-you definitely have the talking points down:light:

Maybe you keep stats, Ken. I doubt it. I will plead guilty to having injected politics into a thread from time to time. But, believe me when I say that I really try to avoid it. On the other hand, there are dozens and dozens of threads where DK seems to apparently come out of nowhere to espouse Fox News points of view. There are several political zealots on this forum. I wouldn't want it any other way. It creates debate. It can create excitement. That's all good. But at the end of the day, there is one person, who despite his already established credentials as a historian of Baja, a lover of Baja, a traveler of Baja, just cannot seem to understand where his strength is. A total gem as a resource to the history of our favorite peninsula, he feels somehow like he needs to inject a political slant all too often. I've posted about this many times. Obviously to no avail. It's akin to an entertainer who has an incredible voice who moves people with his singing, deciding that despite that fact that he's a crappy guitar player, deciding to accompany himself.

If you look above, I did attempt to keep it on topic... but the goat and a couple others who don't like freedom of speech (because it questions the motives of their masters in Washington) like to keep bringing me in as the instigator of politics... I am just one voice offering balance.

Again, as for 2010 Tacomas... (the topic of this thread), I am an owner... there may be some trucks with a recalled driveshaft made by Dana Corp., but not mine.

Now, if you don't want any more politics, then don't bring it up (again).

PS I don't dislike any of you on the other side... I don't say nasty things about you, like your head is up (somewhere)... I would be happy to meet and share a beer... Just because I am not on the side of government control over our lives and prefer individaul freedom ,doesn't mean I am not a nice guy... I am for everyone's freedom and success... not just a few party members at the top. Name calling and insults don't help your side... The worst I have done (if it is bad) is call those on the left 'libs' or 'lefties'... Politics doesn't need to be personal, it is national.

DK- I absolutely do not dislike you, either. Beers sound good. You mentioned the goat He is obviously a provocateur. But, it just seems to me that you start way too many of these things. Please wise up and take a breath before you lunge headlong into the politics. I really, truly love what you contribute to this forum as far as history and such. You will find that if you just don't take the bait, often, things will just take care of themselves.

DK, only thing I will say about this "recall" to bad you purchased you vehicle a few months before this happened... you could have gotten one heck of a good deal and a really pretty decent "unit" all things considered.. see that the others are steeping up to get the "buck" too.. if one has that kind of money and that kind of need.. a decrease of a few thousand dollars is better than a sharp stick in the eye.. and if one lives through ANY wreck without injury to themselves and others.. .... thank what ever.. and walk away.. that is what I have all ways done..

Keep it upright and on the road..(if that is where you are)....:):)
