2PM MDT Tuesday

The state governments, have issued "Code Green" alerts for the storm. Low probability of damage. Every wind site I have been checking shows a decreasing level of wind for the Vizcaino peninsula; now down to "strong breeze" level of 35mph.

Let us hope for those days of "gentle rain showers" that I have been wishing for.

NWS calling for a "Post Tropical Depression" on Friday. Miriam is wandering westwards over cold water, and that is going to take a lot of the wind out of her sails.

I'm sure liking the 2:00 forecast that sees Miriam dancing more northbound and tiring out pretty quickly...I can relate to that! We can breath a bit easier now...the surfos will be stoked!

But that bugger come up behind her looks a bit threatening to you south capers.....

Todos Santos Status report:
Just 5 minutes ago: Heavy rain, lots of wind, rain coming down sideways. Thunder and lightening everywhere. Palm trees are bent. Electricity out.

Edited to say: TORRENTIAL RAIN. The noise from the thunder is deafening

Ok, that was decidedly UNFUN!!!!

The leading edge had high winds that stuck around for only about 20 minutes, then it died down. The rain has virtually stopped as of this moment. I can actually see blue skies. Still no electricity. The rain was coming down in torrents then it let up slowly until now.

The constant slamming and booming of thunder was quite unnerving.

That was a band I don't care to listen to again!

You can thank your nearby mountains for the floor show. Miriam is spinning off cloud bands six hundred miles from the action and they are headed east. Go to a local site like

http://www.eebmike.com

and look at the in-motion satellite images. You'll see the clouds flare up over the mountains. Tain't the hurricane. It's further away than San Lucas is from Guerrero Negro.

The wind just really picked up here at La Aguja - big south wind. No rain (yet) but a spectacular cloud show.
