I'm sure the news crews will be there in force broadcasting on every local channel.

Awww, I don't want them to give up. As Otter sagely put it in Animal House, this situation requires a really futile and stupid gesture. For our entertainment if nothing else. Maybe a little pep talk would help:

It's verbal terrorism...nothing else. Look at the ruckus they've raised just by announcing their bogus intent. If you were to plan a bank robbery, would you announce your intentions in the newspaper?

Are you saying she's operating in some sort of logical manner?

Naw.

She really wants people to drive to the border, stop their cars on the freeway, and get out and walk away.

Yeah! Sure thing baby. I'll abandon my $30,000 car. Just walk away from it.

More than likely she knows what she's doing to advertise her twisted cause...give it exposure. It's the same reason unlikely political candidates, knowing full well they can't win, run for office. To get their agenda out there and perhaps make support deals with the likely winner...thereby winning a compromise.

Jes speculatin' with the possibilities.

What's amazing is, these are the same 'make' of people who'd biatch about the immigration issue and self-patrol the border with body armor and loaded weapons, despising illegals; yet IF their hare-brained stunt does materialize, even a little bit, it will pull Law Enforcement and Border Guards off their posts, making a hey-day of the Rio Grande and the useless wall...

I lay 5 to 1 odds it'll turn out just like the Fat Old Man Biker Heck's Angels Wannabe ride did... a fart in a windstorm. NADA.

Not necessary. Just bring in three or four San Diego cops and they can do their patented "shoot first...ask questions later" routine on them.

Bang bang...who are you?

The latest (http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/09/19/us-usa-immigration...):

"Rob Chupp, an organizer of the action publicized as 'Shut Down All Ports Of Entry,' said more than a thousand people are expected to gather across the several states at the same time, 8 a.m. PDT/10 a.m. CDT at targeted checkpoints, park their vehicles in every lane and turn them off.

Chupp said protesters planned to camp out indefinitely, while avoiding trespassing on federal property, and expect the most serious legal consequence to be a traffic ticket.

'If its putting peoples safety at risk then we would move, but other than that, we wont,' Chupp said.

Chupp said a First Amendment area has no boundaries."

I'm guessing that's not based on actual legal advice. Anyway, they have narrowed the POEs down to just 17 out of the original 63.

The San Ysidro group will be meeting up beforehand at the Walmart on Dennery Road in San Diego, according to the "Rally Locations" link on their website. http://www.shutdownallports.com/

Any Nomads in the area planning to observe? If so, please post video to YouTube. I am in desperate need of comic relief, and you can only watch so many of those Russian car crash videos before it gets old.

They had better be parked in a parking lot when they vacate their vehicles.
