Whats the status of the landing strip in Bahia De Los Angeles?
Is it useable legal? If not, Is it useable enough for to land in case of weather or an issue?

NORRA repairs it each April as needed so they can fly staff in and out. Winter storms often mess it up again.

I'm not a pilot, but while searching the roads in that area looking for a friend's place, I wound up at the airport in late October 2023.
There was a military presence there, but I don't know if that means it was in use, or shut down.

"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

Sad that registering an airport has become so expensive and so many 'emergency runways' have been ditched by the military.

By the way... I have several airports of Baja books from the 60's to late 90's should anyone like to see a runway, as it looked back then.

I did a lot of general aviation flying around Mexico and Central America in the 60,70 and 80s.
A VFR flight plan was " required" every time an aircraft moved. I assume this is still the case. Mexico and Central America had so many airstrips
shut down due to monkey business. Road improvements decreased the need for many airstrips.
