Kayak Fishing Loreto (Villa del Palmar)

Hello everyone, I am going to Loreto this December for a family vacation. I want to bring some rods and take one of the kayaks out to fish. We are staying at Villa del Palmar resort and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for lures or good spots in that area. Thanks so much!

Seen people shore fishing from the rocks near the resort. . Looked like it was good fishing. For shore and kayak fishing i would take some spoons, plastic swim baits, jigs. Once you get there knowledgable staff can prob tell you good spots to fish.

I have had some of the best fishing with a Kayak just north of Loreto. Paddle out to Isla Coronado and work the reefs. Numerous Triggerfish, Pargo Bass. At times some Dorado. If you can't take the Kayak away from the resort, just work the area around the resort in 20-30 feet of water. At that time of year Sierra's should be showing up.

Crocs work, I prefer 4 -6 inch Rapala Shad Raps. You can also fish from shore with a long surf rod. Get a license(not needed for shore fishing)

Crocs for casting, bright colored rapalas for trolling. Don't waste your time with plastics. The triggers will shred them.

Lessons from fishing the shore rocks… Krocs are expensive. Lead heads and plastics are cheap.

True, but he's already spending $500-$1000/day, a dozen crocs will set him back about $100, not enough to downgrade the room. He'll lose a couple right off but then start getting the hang of it. Crimp the barbs and wear glasses while kayak fishing - there will be times when the lure will start screaming thru the air right at your head. I have the scar to prove it, heh.
