Do you need a Mexi bank account to pay your elec bill online? Is there another way to pay online?

I use xoom. If you are not familiar, it's part of PayPal. In other words if you have PayPal, you can use xoom. All you need is your CFE account number. Good luck.

You can pay CFE bills in cash at BBVA or XOOM online

The problem with Xoom is it wouldn't let you prepay. And they have ridiculous exchange rate plus a few bucks charge, with my small amount a few bucks is like 10%.

When I tried Xoom yesterday it suggested a year-old Recibo instead of the current one. Maybe it didn't like my current Recibo because according to CFE app there was still a positive balance after last-year prepay :)... Puzzling...

I always paid my CFE bill, on-line and always used my Citibank debit card. (USA).
The CFE app makes it easy.
