Mexicali West INM and parking?

Didn't need it before but might need this time, to stamp FMM form when going in. Or to buy it on spot, haven't decided yet. Can anybody explain where to park and their office location? Again, it's West, not East.

Stay left as you enter mexico. Park on left, in declaration parking lot before the lights and gates. Sometimes the guards will kick you out of this lot, if you are not declaring. In that case go thru lights/gates and park on left. This latter location is often crowded and may require double parking. If double parking leave one person in the car in case need to move car.
Immigration desk is north end of building.

A year and a half ago, I parked under the awnings on the north end of the building before I crossed through the official entry gates. I got my FMM right away and the agent filled out the form for me and collected my pesos.

When I went back outside, there were more agents that informed me that this was the "something to declare" spot and they needed to search my vehicle. I had some new auto parts I was taking south, so I wound up paying a modest duty on the parts I was "importing".

By the way, the agent who was so helpful issuing my FMM did not stamp it! I didn't notice this until later on, and I was very fortunate that I never needed to show it to any other law enforcement agencies!

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

"FYI, this morning at 10:15 am as we were heading north on hwy 5, north of San Felipe, IMN (immigration) was checking for FMM/Residency cards and taking pictures of them."

Yes. The times I crossed at Mexicali West, I found parking after the electric gate (before there were no vacant spots). Walk into the building and head north to the INM desk in the center, facing the north door.

Thank you people. Looks like parking after the gates is "safer" ;)
