Ligui Beach Camping
Been there before (it’s south of Loreto about 30 min opposite Danzante Island), do they still allow beach camping? Are the palapas still up. Do you
need any type of permit/pass to beach camping? Plan on visiting next Spring. Thanks!

You can still camp there. But the new camping beach in this area is just to the North.
My friends are now camping on the beach north of ligui You drive into the village and turn to the North just pass the library and go about a half of a
mile. You will see campers on the beach. Lots of room there for multiple spots.

Is there good access for 2WD? What's available in town for campers? Restaurants, boats to the island? Shhh don't tell anyone.

Playa Ligüí in 2017
The last of several visits to see the mission site and beach...
The mission foundation was destroyed by flash floods with the rubble last seen in the arroyo in 2002. The village erected a cross and white rock
outline near the original site (we saw in 2009 & 2012). In 2017, it too had been washed away by the ever-widening arroyo. The mission was where
the road to the beach and the road south to Ensenada Blanca village joined, a half-mile from the highway. The beach is a half-mile further east.

Hello everyone !
So Google just to the north of ligui beach and you will see the next beach where camping is much better set up then ligui beach. Ligui has more local
traffic and can be difficult because of the sand getting in.
The beach to the North is used mainly by folks camping and have well defined spots for each camper. Some stay for most of the season.
In ligui the store has about anything you could possibly want very well stocked. Juan the owner will bring in any items you request like special
beer orders etc.
There is a restaurant connected to the store that has great food at local prices. Hot breakfast sandwiches and great tacos etc.
The beach is easy to access from the village with 2 wheel drive and no problem for big rigs . Don't try to come in directly from Mex 1 deep sand on
the side roads . Come through the village access .
Once you setup take a little time to checkout the village and say hello to the locals. Baseball games every Sunday fun to watch and mix.
Easy to find a local that will take you out to the islands for some beautiful site seeing.

All I have to offer is a wonderful evening I spent in this once undeveloped area after a long drive from the border. My on-board water tank provided a
road heated shower after a dip into the bay where all life begins, haha.
I drove south along the existing beachside trail to a very private spot all of my own and not on any private property.
I doubt that is still possible, but hope the wonders of the bay where all life begins, never ceases to amaze everyone who makes the time to venture
there.
I suppose the security of a privately owned property has its worth. I also holdout for the days when we all could find own special places to
ourselves. Those times were all too rare years ago, and even more so now.
We are all Baja lovers n our own ways. Viva la difference!! Any difference of opinion this forum is the spice of life.
Imagine how boring our Baja passion would be if we were all on the same page.
