Taste of Tijuana II - May 19

From: http://www.tijuanaonline.org/restaurants/taste.htm

Please tell them you read about this on BajaNomad.com - thank you.

The Tijuana Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Tijuana Restaurant Association jointly announce the continue of a gourmet dining program for international visitors: the TRIPLE A TIJUANA RESTAURANT PROGRAM.

The purpose of the program is to help Tijuana?s visitors, primarily those from the San Diego and Southern California region, more easily discover the broad range of upscale and adventure-eating options in the Tijuana area and enjoy more affordable and more unusual gourmet alternatives. Since downtown San Diego and downtown Tijuana are only 30 minutes apart, south-of-the-border dining is an easy and economic option for local U.S. residents.

Eight of Tijuana?s finest restaurants participate with dining options that include Old World Mexican cuisine, Mayan, Aztec, Argentinean, French-Mexican fusion and Italian.

And, you will have the opportunity to taste them all in one place on Thursday, May 19th from 7:30 to 9:30 PM in the La Candelaria Banquet Room, located in Tijuana on Blvd. S?nchez Taboada No. 10611-A Zona R?o. Where, you will be introduced to the chefs and enjoy some of the best wines of Baja California in a great atmosphere.

Participating gourmet restaurants are Rincon San Roman, La Diferencia, Cheripan, La Hacienda de Tijuana, Zio, La Taberna TJ, Cien A?os and La Casa del Mole.

The Tijuana Convention and Visitors Bureau along with The Adventurous Gourmet will take care of all the arrangements, including reservations and transportation. For more information, call 619-521-9595 or email: Sandra@lagerdep.com

Also of interest: The Tijuana AAA Restaurant Program:
http://www.tijuanaonline.org/restaurants/passport.html

A PASSPORT to Tijuana's finest restaurants opens a whole new world of exclusive gourmet dining opportunities for you. And it will make your south-of-the-border epicurean experiences an even greater value than they already are.

PASSPORT program participants get the following exclusive benefits:.

- A free appetizer and a complimentary glass of wine from an award-winning Baja winery on your first visit to each of our nine participating restaurants. (You may also choose beer.)

- Easy transportation: Take an inexpensive cab from the border to one of our restaurants and the restaurant will provide transportation back to the border after the meal.

- Each restaurant will stamp your PASSPORT on the first visit, whether you are having lunch or dinner. Accumulate nine stamps in a one-year period and you'll be invited to a free GOURMET GALA, hosted by all the TRIPLE A TIJUANA restaurants. You can hobnob with restaurant critics and sample exciting dishes that are not on the menus.
Free wine will be provided by one of Mexico's award-winning wineries.

- Every six months, a drawing will be held for all PASSPORT members who have accumulated five stamps. The winner will be treated to a luxury dinner for two at the participating restaurant of their choice: The evening includes roundtrip transportation by limo from San Diego to the restaurant, a complimentary bottle of wine, a special dinner and desert.

The cost of the PASSPORT program is only $10 U.S. per person per year and includes your TRIPLE A PASSPORT, free appetizers and wine (or beer) at each of the TRIPLE A TIJUANA restaurants, plus the additional benefits mentioned above. Periodically throughout the year, other exclusive events and opportunities may be offered to PASSPORT members.
