Cabo Fishing Report - Blue Sky Cabo - Marlin

Cabo Fishing Report – October 8, 2026 – Three Marlin Caught at Cabo Falso

Blue Sky Cabo – 43-Foot Riviera Blue Sky – Captain Luis – 3 Marlin Caught and Released

October 8, 2026 – Three Marlin at the Lighthouse – Cabo Fishing Report

The Lighthouse fishing grounds on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas delivered three marlin for Rick, a visiting angler from Waco, Texas, on October 8, 2026.

Fishing aboard the 43-foot Riviera Blue Sky, Rick joined Captain Luis and the crew of Blue Sky Cabo Fishing Charters for an eight-hour offshore charter departing IGY Marina at 6:00 AM.

Rather than traveling to the more distant offshore banks, the crew concentrated on Cabo Falso, where the day's fishing produced three marlin. All three were released.

Cabo Fishing Charter – Pacific Marlin Action at the Lighthouse

Cabo Falso, commonly called the Lighthouse, is one of the established fishing areas along the southern Baja California Pacific coastline.

The grounds can be productive when baitfish gather along changing currents and temperature boundaries. Marlin may move through these waters while pursuing bait, making the area an important option for Cabo fishing crews.

Captain Luis and the crew used a Tournament Dredge – Fish Attraction Device as part of the offshore trolling spread.

The dredge creates the underwater appearance of a small school of baitfish, providing a visual attraction that can draw marlin toward the fishing presentation.

Rick's charter resulted in three marlin catches during the scheduled eight-hour trip.

Each fish was released. Individual marlin species, weights, and lengths were not recorded in the available charter information.

Cabo Fishing Charter – Why Cabo Falso Was Productive

One of the more interesting aspects of this outing was that all three marlin came from fishing grounds relatively close to Cabo San Lucas.

Although Golden Gate, San Jaime Bank, and other offshore locations are well known for game fishing, productive billfish action can also develop along the Pacific coastline.

The presence of baitfish, favorable currents, and water conditions often determines where captains concentrate their fishing efforts.

For Rick, the Lighthouse offered the opportunity to pursue marlin without committing to an extended run offshore.

The private charter also meant that the entire 43-foot Riviera was reserved for one angler, allowing Captain Luis and the crew to focus on his fishing objectives.

Cabo Fishing Report – Three Marlin Released

The Blue Sky returned to F Dock at IGY Marina at 2:00 PM, completing eight hours on the Pacific.

Rick's final catch consisted of three marlin, all successfully released.

The October 8 charter demonstrated the fishing opportunities available around Cabo Falso during the fall season, when warm Pacific waters can support active offshore game fishing.
