CABO MAGIC Weekly Summary 09-15 May

80 boats report the following summary numbers for the period identified.

42 Striped Marlin released
1 Pacific Sailfish
45 Yellowfin Tuna
15 Dorado
7 Wahoo
50 Sierra
35 Roosterfish
2 Mako Shark
15 Jack Crevalle
4 Skipjack
2 YellowTail
2 Boats had no luck

The variety of catches can be interpreted as a great sign of the coming months! We recommend watching National Geographic documentary "SEA WIND". This is often replayed on both the Travel and Discovery Channel. It provides a great learning opportunity about the undersea food chain and offers insightful clues as to what the presence of certain fish types in our waters can mean. Not an exact science for sure!

We have had many guests this week fulfil their dream of catching, and releasing, their first billfish. Many great letters are proudly posted on our website from clients. We truly do appreciate receiving them and hope they inspire others too to come and fish with us!

Some highlights of this weeks period include:
Fishing aboard ADRENALINE Roger Weaver and his family released 2 Striped Marlin. This awesome family from Houston, Texas came to celebrate their wedding anniversary and all the daughters come along to add to the happiness! Congratulations and many more happy anniversary celebrations!

From Pinceville, Hawaii we are thrilled to welcome back Michael and Colleen Hawkins who continue to bring their suerte with them releasing 2 Striped Marlin on their frist day aboard. They will be fishing with us numerous times during their two weeks in Cabo.

First time vistors Howard Aberman, Alan Smith, Hayes Pitts of Coral Gables, Florida successfully released 2 Striped Marlin aboard CABO MAGIC. Way to go gentlemen!

Visitng aboard the cruise ship CELBRITY MERCURY first timers from Sacramento, California and David and Denise Webb enjoyed great inshore action with Capt Hugo aboard our panga KARINA and released 5 Roosterfish on light tackle ~ What fun!

For Tim Donahue, Jeff Lind, Gary Cissel, Robin Beistline of Milliken and Co. in La Grange, Georgia one nice Dorado was boated fishing aboard CABO MAGIC .. we hope you enjoyed your dinner as well!

Veterans of fishing with us aboard EXCELLENCE the Universal Lime Group entertained hardworking employees and released 2 Striped Marlin.

Also visting from aboard cruise ship, Don Fuchik of Georgetown, Texas fished on our panga KARINA and caught 3 good sized Jack Crevalle.

From beautiful Powell River, British Columbia the Chris Scott Party caught Yellowfin Tuna in the 15# and 20# class.

One 45# Wahoo and one Dorado were boated by the Robert Keele Group visiting for the first time from Las Vegas, Nevada fishing aboard CABO MARLIN I

Fishing with us aboard CABO MARLIN II Jason Neely and Troy Montoya also of Las Vegas, Nevada released a Striped Marlin and brought one to scales at a respectable 180#.
All Captains and First Mates aboard the CABO MAGIC Sportfishing Team of Charter Boats want to thank all guests for the opportunity to welcome them aboard. Your safety is our primary concern, followed by entertaining you and getting you "on fish".
Daily catch results can always be found on our website on the Daily Catch Reports page. Anglers wishing to research and compare days/months/years/seasons can do so easily from our site as we provide an accurate archive of CABO MAGIC TEAM reports accessible back to the year 2000.
Those who have "no suerte" are understandably not happy, however, our clients who do get skunked report to us they are pleased with our crews efforts to find them fish and understand "thats why they call it fishing!" Why do some boats catch fish and others get skunked? Conditions of winds, water currents, tides, Mother Nature plus plain old 'being in the right place at the right time!" makes all the difference.
We encourage catch and release of billfish as our crews are skilled in the revival process. Sometimes a fish will die for numerous possible reasons, and when that happens, our crews see to it that the flesh and carcass are utilized in a responsible manner. There are alternative procedures followed by other captains and we will not make comment on that.

Remember the adage: "The shoemakers children have no shoes" Our crews are out fishing as their job, not recreationally. They and their families are sincerely appreciative when a guest donates eating fish to them in addition to a monetary propina (gratuity)
A reminder to all guests that sunscreen can be considered the most important personal item they should remember to pack for their trip.

We encourage guests to respect Fish Quantity Limits and to practice responsible fishing practices. We acknowledge those who support our efforts in doing so.

The majority of charter companies in Cabo San Lucas provide reputable services with crews that will work hard for you. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Our crews hard work and our words certainly do inspire.

We look forward to welcoming you aboard too! Tommy and Lori Garcia

What are the prices of Cabo fishing boats..say for a full day's charter after billfish, tuna, or dorado? Best dates this season?

I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.
