Airport expansion

Does anyone here have first hand knowledge, on the plans for expansion of the San Felipe airport that's to take place next year?

Expand? Isn't 5,000 paved feet long enough, at sea level?

I looked at your last months respose with all it's excellent points. But the times they are a changing. The owners of the plots of sand (lots) that are paying from $250,000 to $450,000 each will demand they not have to charter a Gulfstream just to come and check on construction. The several groups developing this area will see to it.

No first hand info Yankee, but the winds say it's coming.

OK Captain... how long does your Piper need under those conditions (0 wind and HOT day)?

I understand density altitude... but that plays its hand more at elevation on hot days, I thought? I was a third passenger in a Cessna 206 (?) years ago and we were leaving Big Bear Mountain airport on a hot day... the pilot was a bit stressed as he used every inch of that long runway... Later, I heard from my friend (#2 passenger) that the pilot forgot to do something to compensate for 'density altitude'... Would it be possition of the flaps?

Most pilots like to take off from Alfonsina's early in the morning, in the summer, huh? But, Alfie's is only 2,290' long...
