El Mechudo

There is a story about a place north of La Paz called El Mechudo. I didn't call it a "legend" as some have because upon researching this story, I was told that it is not a legend but history. By the locals.
But this is not about that story. El Mechudo or Punta Mechudo is rich in history and there are many stories of the pearl divers back then as it was a rich area.
We spent some time there camping, exploring and looking into the history of the area. Fairly spooky stuff if you are into snorkeling.
It wasn't abundant in ocean life although there were Oysters everywhere. I did spend some time snorkeling around and didn't find much. Until the 3rd day when I went out and found a reef. Teaming with fish, shellfish and life. I shot some dinner , took my coordinates between the cliffs and our campspot and headed in with a good sized Trigger Fish which we love.
I then told Carol about this reef and we headed back out there. I found the area where I had looked at the cliff and our campsite and began looking for the reef. We spent an hour looking around for that reef and could not find it. I could not believe it.
The "El Mechudo" story continues!
