Ensenada or San Felipe?

I am planning my first ever visit to Baja over a long weekend later this month and I'm trying to decide whether to go the Ensenada area or San Felipe, but I'm torn because I've heard that San Felipe is really hot and somewhat deserted this time of year while Ensenada is more comfortable, but also more crowded. Like the other person asking about Baja vacations today, I'd just like to sit by the beach and relax. Any recommendations or advice? Which would you pick in the summer?

It's really a personal choice, What are you looking for? You say beach relaxing, does that include swimming? For me, it would be SF if I only had a short time since swimming is my priority....Pacific Ocean that far north is too cold for me. If you don't need to be in the water and just looking for warm sunny beach time, than I would say Yes to Ensenada (south of anyway) either way, have a good time.

I just left San Felipe a week ago and it's really hot there!! Especially if you are not used to lotsa heat! Was 101 degrees when we left last Wed. Would be much cooler in Ensenada.
