retirement fm3 extensions

Does anyone know how to get the form to file for the 60 day extension for a rentista fm3. Our fm3 expires today and we can not get to Puerto Vallarta, where we bought a home last summer, until later. Can the extension be done through the mail or fax.....it appears it will do us little good to drive to a border town from Az.

If you went yesterday, you might have gotten it stamped "Salida" (exit) which would give you 15 days after yhou return. Never heard of a 60 day entension but will ask La Migra when I'm in town today and if they know anything about it, I'll post a reply.

thankyou, bajalou........the extension is listed as something like article 92 or thereabouts in the immigration laws......we thought it may be a semi common problem for rookies to Mexico......but it is listed as a law for those people caught out of Mexico when their retirement fm3 expires....senior moments

I went into imigration and asked and he told me a person has to be here to do anything. I was going to get my FM2 stamped Salida as I'm not sure when I leave Baja of when I'll return and renewal is in Sept. He toldme to get the bank leter (local) and pay the fee 2645 pesos and he would handel the paperwork and get it done for me. So--- I'm all set on my renewal - one less thing to rememeber. And it's the final renewal!!!!

:tumble:
