Bocana Beach Restaurant-El Rosario

This place was pretty good, really, and reasonable. Service was fast and excellent. Comfortable inside with good cross ventilation and fans. It's the restaurant at the Motel Sinai & RV Park.

Wife and I each ordered a plata; she the cheese enchiladas and me the fish tacos. Three each on each plate and quite good. the enchiladas has the ubiquitous "salad" covering the enchys (fresh tomatoes on a bed of shredded lettuce) that we always find odd because the heat of the enchys tends to ruin much of the lettuce. This was so much lettuce that you couldnt actually SEE the enchiladas below. But, no matter. Green or red enchilada sauce; your choice. Believe each was 4.95. Also ordered the dinner salad which was like a chopped salad and quite large for 3.00.

Tecate beer only, but that's OK with me. No margaritas, but.........they serve a good homemade limeade and they sell shots of Cien Anos. But they wouldn't make a margarita. :?: Maybe it was for lack of an orange liquer? Next time we will make our own tableside and see what their reaction is.

Good chips and salsa. Also saw a carne asada plate that was quite large.

No carnitas on the menu:(

While we were eating there with a bunch of Nomads, in walks Antonio's (Baja Cactus) wife followed by him a few minutes later. I would think he would know where to eat in town so I guess we made a good choice.

I'd give it 4 tenedores out of 5.

Surfer Jim and Hook fed me dead fish one night at La Bocana beach and it was good! (I live on the kindness of others....).

Hook has a great description of this place. My wife and I ate there both Friday and Saturday night. I had garlic shrimp and they were sweet and juicy - and full of garlic! About $9 US. Much of the garlic butter seeped into the rice-bed, and that was just fine with me too! Would definately eat there again (and camp behind the motel for $15 - full hookups and level cement pads!)

The SAME boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It's about what you are made of NOT the circumstance.
