Thanks Judy... If anyone wonders what this link is to, it's about the Santiago Zoo and Baja Nomad 'jeans' and others attempts to rescue the large
animals there.

Judy
This was one of those deals where someone took it upon themselves to first try and improve the zoo, which doesn't have any business there in the first
place.( large animals in 100 degree weather)
Then it changed to trying to get the animals out of the zoo after one of the animals died. These people were warned prior to the animal dieing but
continued with their plans and ignoring sensible advice from many.
Hopefully, someone who is qualified to deal with this MESS will come along and do something about this inhumane cruelty that has just been prolonged
by alledged "do gooders".

Oh hey. One visit to the Santiago Zoo was more than enough for me but we have to hope that someone will be able to do something about it. Awareness
of the problem will hopefully help.

All it takes is someone with a rifle and a steady aim.

cut the patty from that gaping wound in it's leg there!

I feel a little conscience on my shoulder which begs me to spare the animals. Being dependant upon and at the mercy of humans dictates compassion not
extermination. There are plenty of refuges and centers more than willing to accept destitute animals of the kind they harbor.

Did you read the article? This ain't gonna happen. Now they are forming a committee to study the problem. Even gonna consult with zoo experts
in the States. Meanwhile, these animals are suffering, and this will continue.
Would you spare your dog to live under these conditions?

Calm down Dave
Just teasing. I am dead against all zoos and animal cruelty!
Which is why "qualified individuals" need to take charge of this one. It's been about 2 years now with no change under the current people "doing
something about it".

actually no, I didn't read it all, till now. I was up on the previous discussion back a few months but I could not finish this article because pg 35
was not linked.
My position is, no I do not like to see animals suffer. If the animals are in terminal peril or agony it is only humane to end their suffering. I also
appeared that common sense should have prevailed when the 15k was not applied.
Here is the page link:pg.35

Typical gringo gazoot nonsense
Santiago's people aren't educated? It happens to be the state capital!
The editor of the fishwrap is so easily hornswaggled by anyone she will write anything in that paper. I see dk's name was mentioned in the gazoot
recently. Not surprising that his cohort Mindy was soon to follow.
If these foreign "do gooders" would mind their own business, things would happen much faster as far as relieving the pain these critters are living.
In other words, go hug one of your own trees!

Dang, and all this time I've sending my taxes to the wrong place. Santiago, not La Paz?

Tucker, you are getting all the fun... I guess like the Mexican map makers, there's a few people who live in Baja must know things the rest of us do
not, like Santiago being the state capital, etc.
What do I know, as I read in some BOOK (when I was 8 years old) that La Paz was the capital... and you know that disqualifies me as a source for this
kind of info.!
Only room for one gringo do-gooder on Nomad (jr.)? Too bad, as I would think the more concerned amigos there were, the better?!

By calling me on the capitol
I guess we all agree to the major problem, outside tree huggers doing nothing besides prolonging the misery of these animals!
And it looks from the info provided here that I was also wrong about how long these tree huggers have been screwing things up.
No matter who they try to blame it on.
And David have you ever heard of a Chinese fire drill, a monkey doing a football, people minding their own business? If after 5 years or so "Nomads"
help have only prolonged the misery, I would say they pretty much suck at it!

By correcting you on the state capital in no way means that I agree with you on anything else. My long held battle cry is "lets not try to save the
Mexicans from themselves"!

Yeah, how so?
The only people who are stalling efforts are the local and state officials who have the power to end this. And I don't recall hearing of any
"local" outcry to begin with. It would seem that without foreign intervention nothing would have happened.
Is that what you meant to say? That if foreigners minded their own business nothing would happen much faster?
