Current Gas Prices?

Will be heading down to surf and explore for at least a month starting in September and wondering what the latest price of gas is running these days? exchange rate?

I noticed that in April it was still around 2 bucks a gallon, and I'm hoping that it's remained there since my truck really loves gasoline, especially with boards and extra gas riding on the roof......

Diesel is I believe, 5.06 Peso per litro here in San Felipe and Mexicali. Quite a savings over US prices, even AZ's.

When we make our treck down in oct., I think we are going to go the long way as gas is cheaper in nev. than anywhere here in ca. That's just 1 hr. out of our way. Don't know, but, different sites and heading for Mexicali to start with this trip.

Tucson Diesel has now gone over $2.50 per gallon in most stations. some as high as $2.75.

Just checked my last (5 days ago) dollar/peso rate. Got pesos from ATM on US acct - rate including all bank charges 10.477.

Ruby, my experience is that in southern Nev. at least, the price is about the same as Calif. You can get some savings by buying in AZ whenever possible. Till you get to Mexico that is.

bajalou, the way i got it figured is if i get gas in nev. and then again in az., i'll have enough to cross the border and it has got to be cheaper there in baja. Or not?

Sounds right to me. The Flying J truck stops or Love's are usually the best prices in the areas - be it Cal or AZ sometimes 10-15 cents a gla less than Chevron or Shell etc.

:D

And you can get a Flying J discount card free which saves I think 3 cents a gal on gas and 1 cent on diesel. Every penny helps??

Glad to see my simple question has spurred all these responses....thanks for the updates, let me tell you...it's ALL cheaper than the price of gas here in Mammoth California which right now is 2.99 for 87 octane....no alternatives....

so 2.56 or 2.25 or even 2.75 it all sounds sort of like RELIEF....not to mention those waves, those ballenas, and my third month-plus long trip to baja in three years....I'm PYSCHED.

cheers folks,
we cross the border on sept 3...get back around mid october....or maybe...say December....or maybe....never....we'll see what happens...

You can get a .13 per gallon discount if-------

you own a Shell Master Card (5% discount at Shell stations only).

If you have an AT&T Universal Master Card you can get the same 5% discount (.13 cents per gal) discount at ANY gas station where you can use a credit card.

This applies to only USA and CANADA, of course, Not Mexico.

If you have a SAFEWAY card--------

and an AT&T Universal Master Card you can get a .16 cent per gallon discount.

This all adds up pretty quickly.

Flying J diesel is 2.959 to 2.979 per gal in Calif - all locations - in Arizona it's 20+ cents cheaper.

(just chekced their web site for prices.)
