Remember ??
The Baja California travel guides written and published by Cliff Cross ?
We bought our first one back in 1971 and the last in 1974. Does anyone (David K, maybe ?) still have theirs ? Somewhere I've got one packed away,
but haven't found it yet.
I just found a used bookseller online that has various copies for sale. Ordered two. Memories of the Old days.

Cool Books
A friend of mine bought a copy in 1972 (I believe) and read it cover to cover more than once. He then arranged to make a two-week trip to La Paz
using that book. He was very disappointed to find that the Highway 1 Construction was well under way and many roads in the guide no longer existed.
All worked out, though, because he fell in love with Gonzaga Bay (Alfonsinas) and later bought a house there.
The following site also has a number of copies available:

Don't you love those old hand drawn maps in it? Great!

Very cool. On the cover, what are the guys doing in the picture with the boat. Hard to make it out.

Think I'm gonna get one. And the one on the Yucatan peninsula. I love that old stuff.
Pompano had some really cool hand drawn maps that I'd love to get hold of. I'd love to have his stuff hanging in my living room. Plus he's a great
nut!

Great Book!
I have a copy{Only One}. I started Flying down in 68, used a Map made by the AAA and on my trips would mark the progress of the road.
The Book really tells it like it was!!
