another puerto penasco fishing report last weekend

Hot weather and light breezes both days with a 2 to 3 foot chop both days. Water temp at surface is still close to 90 degrees. Fished dead mackerel baits on saturday in 165 ft of water for good catches of corvina and leopard grouper. On Sunday we fished shallower in 110-130 ft of water with live grunts and also made a few drifts jigging large scampi jigs with a sierra mackerel on the hook and picked up two nice grouper of 45 and 55 lbs and one pinto of 20 lbs.

Hey, thanks for the fish report from Rocky Point, ric...

That water is Warm! Corvina sound great for dinner, but nothing wrong with grouper either. Good sized grouper on the macks, but that pinto was a monster. Can you post a photo of that one? I would like to see the bruiser.

I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

You got that right - I'm not sure if all the pintos I've caught add up to 20 pounds.

Something cheap and tawdry ?!?!? My imagination wanders.......

1. This is the biggest large mouth bass ever caught on 20 proof line and a Dewalt, battery powered reel; in salt water no less !

2. This is definitely my wife's ex-husband Hal. He's pput on some weight and aged a bit, but you know it's him by the tight-lipped, shifty eyed expression he makes.

3. This is one I always fear; the deadly leapard, hides in underwater trees and pounces on it's victims. Always look behind you.

Here is a photo of his cousin sneaking up on a poor unsuspecting deer...

Zounds! ...and egads, too. By golly, Diver, there is just no fooling you. You are correctomundo. Your prize will arrive (albeit a trifle smelly by then) in 8-122 weeks.
