Spearfishing report, "A newbie with a gun..."

Que pasa nomads,

Have been spending mucho time at the islands north of Gonzaga bay. On the latest trip we took out a school teacher that had never been spearfishing, or even in the ocean for that matter.

He did great! And he had a great time.

The total catch,

6 lepoard grouper
4 snapper
2 triggerfish
2 parrot fish
1 opaleye (victim of a mistaken itentity...hey at least Im honest)

We sent him home with fillets for his family to eat and with a new way of looking at the ocean. Customers are now given a list of fish they are allowed to shoot on our trips and how many with pics to identify the fish. The new rules work great except for the case of the opaleye....a big opaleye in the distance to a person who is his first time in the ocean is easy to mistake for a small grouper.

We also saw 3 sea turtles, and 1 golden grouper. There are some big snapper out lately. Ill try and post more pics later but for now here is a link to the report
