An altar

For some reason this photo always reminded me of happiness and hope. I guess its the affect of the color of the sunlight coming in through the windows.
I am not particularly religious but sometimes I have quiet moments when I am shooting inside churches and this was one of those moments.
Hope for the people of the Gulf states.

I am not particularly religious, either, but that is one great shot, of a great little church. Simplicity and warmth-----I love it!!!! Barry

Wonderful shot bajajudy.

You're on a roll these days. Great composition, color balance, and design. One of your best. Reminds me why churches are so satisfying to be in.

Clean, clean, clean shot of a very clean little alter, very calm and soothing, very nice indeed, again, thanks Judy.

Thanks everyone!
Thought that I might mention that it is the church on the square in Todos Santos. The last time we were there, they were painting the exterior of the church, a job long overdue.

Getting back to that altar shot.

I was wondering how you got so much light in the shot? Those baja churches usually are so poorly illuminated that everything I shoot comes out dark. Fast film? Photoshop work?

Another thing judy. One of the interesting thing about baja churches is that they often seem to have their statues of saints clothed with external clothes and are often sad and bloody. I always wonder why they portray their saints that way. Have you any closeups of them? I think they would make a great subject.

Hope you're enjoing the holiday.
Skipjack.

Skipjack
It was simply the right time of day. The first shot I took is below. Then I noticed the light and took the one above. Just dumb luck really.
I will look for some shots of saints but there werent any in my churches folder where I found these.
Thanks, I try to enjoy everyday, dont you!
