Does anyone know if the major over/underpass on Lopez Mateos @ Lazaro Card##as in Mexicali is complete? If not, estimated completion date? Rob

Rob, we drove through Mexicali last week... no problems, although I was on the northbound route, past the Hotel Lucerna. 'Braulio' is the Mexicali connection here on Nomad that I am aware of...

Flyover

Thanks David.......... The intersection that I'm referring to is adjacent to the Walmart and Sam's Club. Did your route take you passed them? Rob

Rob - Sorry I'm so late in responding. The traffic usually flows pretty well through that intersection but they're still doing a lot of construction. I think they try to limit the slow downs to the evening hours.

As to when they might be done - god only knows - they've had L?zaro C?rdenas chewed up now for a couple years. If you really want a completion date I could probably get one for you but I'm not sure it would mean anything.

Personally I wouldn't worry about it - detours and slowdowns are pretty rare.

Hope that helps - sorry about being late.

If you're just passing thru from the border to San Felipe, take the river road from the border to Lazero Card##as. Left on it past Walmart and a right turn onto Lopez Mateos. Usually not much delay going this way for me at least.

I'll let you know Wed. after I head back down.

I drove through there last Tuesday going to San Felipe, we got down to one lane (in Mexicali, that is enough room for you and one more car next to you because you know there will be one trying).

The overpass looks about half done. Actually what is half done is the lane that will take you east away from Walmart. I think when done we will still be on ground level with an elevated offramp.

I didn't see any signs of a real overpass like the new one about a mile from this one. I think the Walmart traffic (don't remember the name of that street) is going to go under Hwy 5.

Like Lou said, take the River Road and it will bring you out to that intersection without the wait or necking down to one lane.
