Not in baja/East County
For those of you in East San Diego County there is a new Mexican Restaurant in Lakeside called Las Flamas ( 10053 Maine Avenue 619 328-2549 ) that has
pretty darn good food. And beer. They had birria and it was pretty good. A little pricey but worth a spin.

I'm w/you on the squid..... I might actually have one of those in my future today after running. And, maybe........., a Sierra Nevada on tap.

Hey A-OK,
one of the guys who prepares food at PLS also is a weekend chef at Yakitori II on Sports Arena. I believe my wife and I had a little saki w/him last
night..........
The tuna sammy is pretty good, too. I always order it dry and I'll split the seared ahi salad w/my wife.

Yakatori II! I grew up on Guam, where Yakatori 1 was born. They were located right on the beach, and when we left Guam I thought Id never have
Yakatori again. Until I found them next to the Sports arena. Ill have the #1 with a side of onion rings and tempura shrimp please......

Squid Sandwich?
Never had the pleasure of a cephlapod sandwich. I am trying to visualize one! I hope the squid are frozen. Squid are very hard to keep fresh. They
"kick" over easily.
If your squid looks purple before cooking.............yuck!
Breaded & deep-fried? On whole wheat? Tortas? No se?
Mi esposa no gusta calamar!

Tentacles, sucker pads, beak, eye balls not in the sandwich ! Think thick Humboldt
calamari strips{1/2"thick x 5"long} from a Italian restaurant, breaded and deep fried. Then add Mrs. Kellys Tarter sauce on sourdough, lemon to taste
and you have a squid sandwich. Kind of a local salty dawg favorite. Your next trip through San Diego has to include this stop.
