We just got back from Yucatan. Some places along the hotel row area (in Quintana Roo) were completely under water up to the fourth or fifth floor. Cozumel, forget about it. Over 30,000 people (tourists) are still evacuated from the area some in outlying hotels and in shelters trying to get back home. My wife an I were lucky that we were 200 miles West of Cancun exploring Myan ruins wheh we heard about Wilma and ended up driving to Merida and catching a flight, luckily, to Mexico City where we were able to get on a flight back to the States on Saturday.
This area will take months if not years to rebuild. It's just terrible.

Bob
Thanks for your first hand report. After seeing palms without a single frond, I feared that there would be a lot of damage to structures, too.
Glad you made back out ok.
