We spent last Thanksgiving in Gonzaga Bay. Drove to Punta Final one afternoon and saw birds and a boil just offshore, no boat, so I figured I'd swim out to fish it. My friends kept dragging me back onto the beach. They said I might have a better chance if I would set down either my fishing pole or my Pacifico! The nerve of some people.

So exactly how DO you catch a fish with a Pacifco?

I've found that if you pour a line of Pacifico from the water up the beach to the ice chest and hide the bottle opener, if you're quick you can usually chase 'em down before they get back to the water.

Sallysouth, I was responding to a photo Pompano posted. Looks like the photo gremlins made off with Pompanos post. Or Pompano's agent got him a book deal w/ a seven figure advance and got the rights to his photos. Personally, I'm hoping it was gremlins, although I will buy his book when it hits the stores.

I couldn't complete my last post as I was having a seizure !

Flat water in every shot ! I can't wait.

Looks like it really beats the heck out of sitting in a 14" aluminum boat, anchored in 58 degree water, wearing half of the clothes you own and trying to hold a rod in your gloved and mittened hands! Salmon fishing in Washington can really s-ck sometimes.

Looks like a fine mess of crappies. They really are tasty.

Yes, it's lunch time here at work. Time to get out and stretch those legs a bit.

Bob, I am just as confused as you. First there was a flock of diving pelicans up near the top of thread. Then it was gone and appeared near the bottom of the thread. Then we had a mess of crappies. Now all the photos are gone.

My guess is that posts are being removed because they are not deemed to be consistent with the subject of the thread.

Whistler, I've never fish ascension but have fished boca paila. It's my understanding that boca paila is part of the larger bay. Anyway, the bonefish I encountered were smaller than at Kiribati and there were fewer. The good thing is that there are opportunities at permit in those waters. I caught some up to about 20" on a fly. There are also baby tarpon. Actually, the tarpon fishery was my favorite in the area.
