from the cave. seeing nothing in all directions but more rocks and caves i wonder why the indians chose this spot do do their artwork (other than the
obvious water nearby.) i wonder how many more sites nearby exist, but have yet to be found?

We stayed the night at La Almeja and I had the same feeling...the view was so spectacular, no wonder they stayed here and painted.

Yes, fun area for sure! Here is my son near the Catavina cave art hill... April, 2001...
Here is a small sample of inside the cave (actually under a large boulder) at (WGS 84) N 29?45.118' W114?44.570'
...
We spotted this lone palm, east of the highway a few miles north of Catavina, at: GPS waypoint (WGS 84): N 29?47.867' W114?47.321'

Here is the entrance to the 'cave'. That enormous boulder is the roof of the cave and the art is painted on the bottom surface of that thing.

I had boxes of baja photos hidden in all the closets. It was such an unorganized mess that I never knew where to go to get any print I was looking
for. I would go through packet after packet in each box, looking for something.
Well, I've come up with a solution. No more prints except for those personal ones I keep in family albums. I found these photo albums where you store
a CD and it's index on each page. Any print can be made from the CD with Kodakgallery when I want it and they seem to be just as good as what Kodak
printed originally. All my boxes of prints now fit into 2 CD albums.
So I just flip through the albums and see hundreds, if not thousands of images, in minutes. So, I went through my collection and realized there was a
group of images that together could form a thread on Catavina. Then, I looked some more and found another group that could form a thread on agaves.
I mention this because you seem to also be going through a similar exercise and this has worked for me in a positive way.
Now, if only I can figure how to do the same with my Kodachrome slides I took over the years. They are so sharp. I don't want to diminish their
quality during the scanning process. I want to preserve that sharpness. I have some good baja stuff from the past in color slides that I can't share
yet. Any ideas?
