I love the windmill cross.
And the lights look strange for the setting.
At first I thought that it was a miniture of something.
I have no idea where it is though.

No,not Cardonal. Here is a pic of the back of the church. They built this church around this rock.Notice the little smokestack/vent coming out of the
top of the rock.

Nope, I guess I have really stumped the band with this one. I'll give you a few clues and see if anyone can get it.
The Clues:
1. Its just outside of a town of about 700 people.
2. It overlooks two large baseball diamonds.
3. You'll probably take a taxi to get to it-but you don't have to.
This little church and the surrounding area is really worth a visit. I'll tell you more about it after someone gets the location right.
Good Luck

Well I guess I'll have to give you one last and major clue but before I do I want to make sure no one has any rocks or other weapons readily
available as I think you will be mad at me.
The clue:
This church is NOT in Baja. At least, its not on the peninsula but is very close to it. It's on an island. Which island is it on?

Hmmm... well, Isla Carmen and Isla San Jose have small villages, but I don't think they have a population of nearly 700 or have taxi service..?? If it
isn't either of those, then my last guess is Isla San Marcos with its gypsum mine town.

Yes, we have a winner. Congrats David. Too bad you didn't guess it right before I gave out the clues cuz I was going to give an all expense paid trip
to Hawaii if someone guessed it right before I gave hints.
This is a great Isla and I think everyone should go and check it out. About 1999 my friends and I went to San Bruno and hired two pangas to take us
out to San Marcos so we could camp out there. They first took us to this sea tunnel which is a miles or two north of the town of San Marcos.
This is not a cave but a tunnel. You go thru it (the tide was high,we had to duck) and then it opens up into this beautiful open air grotto. Then they
took us to the south end of the island and dropped us off for a few days of camping. Later that day I took a walk alone and rounded a bend and was
surprised to find a very nice baseball diamond, walking a few steps further I saw another baseball diamond. These are large very nice baseball fields-
I was very surprised. Then I saw the little church and went in. It was dark but there were some candles burning behind the pulpit. All I could see
was the candles in front of this black hole. I left and went back to camp. The next day I took my friends to the church and we turned on the lights
and we could see what was in the black hole, here is a picture:
I marked it so you can see the vent in this photo and scroll back up to see the outside vent in the other photo. When it was only lit by candlelight I
had no idea that the back of the shrine was painted like the mexican flag. I assume the townsfolk saw this rock and made a shrine out of it and then
liked it so much they built a church around it. Walking thru the town was great, wish I had taken more pics. One day we met the director of the mine
and he gave us a tour of the mining office and showed us a professionally made video of the gypsum mine. Then he had one on the employees drive us
around the mine itself and then took us to the director's ranch on the island. A great experience. All should give it a try.
Go to San Bruno and catch the water taxi out to the island and just walk thru town and check things out. Ask to go to the mine office and maybe
they will show you the video too. Ask for directions to the baseball fields and you will see this little church. The mine sells a lot of gypsum to the
U.S. so maybe while you are reading this if you look around the room you are in and see sheetrock walls, you maybe surrounded by Isla San Marco.
Sheetrock is made from Gypsum.
Since nobody new where this was I assume most haven't been there, so this would be a great day trip for most on here. If you go take more and better
pics than I did and post them on here.
Adios,Craig

ooww, I was afraid this was going to come up. You see, the runner-up prize is a little embarrassing. Runner-up prize is a lovely piece of driftwood
with a nice seashell. Even that doesn't include delivery, but the place I keep them is open 24 hours a day. Just go 15.37683 miles south of San
Quintin and make a sharp right turn and they are just a little ways down. You can't miss them.
