I just sent Canyonman Rob his deposit to stay at the camp site. As you may know, Guadalupe Canyon has its own website - http://www.guadalupe-canyon.com where it advertises its campground at the base of the Sierra Juarez escarpment.
Arturo is a very nice man who owns and operates the camp with the assistance of his son-in-law Rob. In dealing with Rob, I have been surprised at how
difficult that man is to reach and make reservations. Not the most friendly I must add. But the camping is incredible. The water is quite hot (~107 deg.F) as hit comes out of the garden hose to fill your tub.
The road into G.C. is recommended for "High-clearance" stock pickup trucks and SUVs, although I have seen on several occasions, Saturn sedans, VW
vans, and even 1980s-era fullsize luxury cars make the drive in and out of G.C. - although not recommended due to the sandy dirt road which is
encountered as you wind up the canyon from the Laguna Salada region.
1/2 of our 4WD group camped at El Sol in March '04, and had a wonderful time there:

Since your group was there, the rocks have gotten bigger (the road lower-er?)... from all the weather last winter... http://vivabaja.com/405 and last month (photos on Nomad) we went again...

Bajacat, okay, thanks...
I went back to the photo of the sign at the entrance I took, and see that Ken will be on the LEFT side of the canyon, across from Arturo's and Angel's
(Campos #1 and #3)...

No biggie amigo... I was thinking the same until I looked at this photo I took last trip...
The canyon division is confusing... The nicest is Arturo's Campo #1, then his brother Angel runs Campo #3 just above Arturo's camp... It hasn't the
privacy or beautiful camps that Arturo has... There never was a 'Campo #2', at least posted... But the oldest Loya brother has that area, 'Los
Manantiales' across the canyon... All three share the one spring's hot water! Good thing that thing really gives a lot of hot water!

Our group stayed at La Gloria and another close by. Very little privacy, but we only stayed 1 night. Plenty of pony-tailed granola-ppl with dogs
running all over the campground. We got to play our musica as loud as we wanted in Canyon Jaquegel and didn't get dirty looks from the Volkswagon and
Subaru crowd, either.
